Obama Rules Out 'military excursion' in Ukraine.....

The forum is very insightful to participate on. I am amazed at how high the percentage of people who can only think in terms of the most simplistic absolutes. For example, absolutely for everything Democrat or Republican, and therefore absolutely against everything and everyone on the other side. Thus, they only need 1 word to think about: "Democrat" or "Republican."

These topics concerning the USA and Russia are the same for many people on the forum. They can only think in terms of absolutes: 1.) Do absolutely nothing or 2.) declare war on Russia.

They are the world's worst poker players, In their thinking, when they get their cards either they have an Ace of spade's high royal flush - or they immediately fold losing their initial buy into the game every single game - until that one time they draw that hand, bet 100% of everything they have - whereupon everyone else would just fold and they'd only win the initial pot.

How do you "debate" with people who just start shouting "NO! NO NUCLEAR WAR! WE MUCH NEVER EVER CHALLENGE RUSSIA!" ?

Anyone who wants to go to war over this should personally go kick Putin in the gonads.

I believe that they'll probably get all of the war that they can handle right after that.

They might even get a little extra.

Ahhhh another useless CON reference to WWII... :doh

Did the USofA use military force when the Japanese invaded Korea? Do you think we should have?

Did the USofA use military force when the Japanese invaded China? Do you think we should have?

When did the USofA use military force? When American lives and property were taken.

What military force do you think we should be using now?

1) getting involved in WW2 a few years earlier would have saved lives.

2) why do you think that force is the only thing a strong military is good for?

1) getting involved in WW2 a few years earlier would have saved lives.

2) why do you think that force is the only thing a strong military is good for?

1) is a premise you keep trying to float but it never does

2) oh just a little saying we had back when I served- something about breaking things and killing people ;)

But do tell just what would you have done with the military?

Crimea is a fat chick with a mustache.
And as Putin is about to discover, this fat mustachioed chick will require high maintenance. It has a crumbling infrastructure and the ethnic Russians there fully expect Putin to do for Crimea (the old playground) what he did for Sochi (the new playground). Just the two bridges necessary to connect Crimea to Russia proper are estimated to cost ~$3 billion dollars, but as we saw with Sochi this estimate will balloon to be triple that or better due to corruption. And that is just the basic two bridges required for connection. It's no secret why Khrushchev saddled Ukraine with Crimea back in 1954. Rubles.

You must be reading the wrong ones if you don't know that nukes got the Japanese to surrender and end WWII

You haven't read any, if you missed the 3 1/2 years that proceeded the nuking.
