6,100 dead people on Nassau voter rolls[W:74]

Re: 6,100 dead people on Nassau voter rolls

Interesting they didn't post the party affliations of those 6,100 dead people. Hmmm, wonder what the majority party is... Yeah, like we have to wonder.

I dont think they are allowed to know what person voted for what candidate...that would kinds go against our secret ballot system. And honestly, does it matter who they voted for? To me it doesnt matter, what matters is that 270 dead people voted.

Oh yes, but not what I was asking for. What party were the dead registered to?

Re: 6,100 dead people on Nassau voter rolls

There so few things in life that you can do without ID, so many, many more instances where you have to have one, collect a welfare or unemployment benefit check or food stamps to name only a very few.

I'd support, as in pay for, anyone not having proper ID for voting to get one. Done. Let's get over this ridiculous point of contention and move on. (Do you think that any of the congress critters in DC heard that?)

Yeah, well, tell that to the GOP.

Re: 6,100 dead people on Nassau voter rolls

really?

please enlighten us.

A live person cast a legitimate vote but had their vote recorded under a dead person with a similar name.

Re: 6,100 dead people on Nassau voter rolls

Power of the crowd ( mob rule), it's the current system, in which can vote the mentally ill, thieves, dependents, and people who are open enemies of our country. Look carefully at the White House, who chose these people.

Yeah, well, tell that to the GOP.

Takes 2 parties to continue a contention. Why are the Democrats always crying about the minorities being disenfranchised?

Hell, it's not like they don't have an ID, or couldn't get one. Free even.
If someone is that much not a part of society, what's the realistic chances that they would actually, like vote?

Re: 6,100 dead people on Nassau voter rolls

Oh yes, but not what I was asking for. What party were the dead registered to?

Does it matter what party they were aligned with when they were alive? I think this transcends party affiliation.

I can see that might be the case for a few...no doubt. But not all 270 people and not the one who voted 14 times since his death.

A simple ID at the voting polls would help avoid this from happening.

Hell, the law already states (Patriot Act) that everyone must have a picture ID to present when asked by law enforcement. So to keep in line with the law, everyone is supposed to already have the ID. How much of a stretch is it to ask for the same ID when voting?

Re: 6,100 dead people on Nassau voter rolls

As they used to say in Chicago, "Vote early. Vote often."

No. That's not true. This is lack of understanding or unwillingness to understand what other talk.
