World War 3 possible Ukraine-Russia?

You have astutely recognized that judging either success or failure is impossible to calculate when a man has no goals.

Its fun to watch you squirm and argue in circles trying to get your story straight.

Just admit it, you're like everyone else that constructs everything they hate about politicians, presidents, whatever is in their head, then you attach it to Obama just because.

Then it was kinda silly of you to state that he had the goal of weakening the US, huh?

Perhaps you should've just said "I want to insult Obama. Insert insult here."

Of course, the poll would have been conducted in Iran or Russia or China . Are you sad that the Soviet Union lost the Cold War and not that evil Americans?

Wtf are you talking about?

Don't know who this guy is, but he apparently thinks this conflict is going to lead to ww3 since Russia is positioning itself to control Ukraine before US exerts its influence over it. You guys think it's possible?

If it's possible? Sure.

Likely? Probably not.

However, I am afraid it might happen. I'm not expert enough to make an educated guess. Too much information is missing on my side. And how educated are even the educated guesses of experts? Do they really see "the whole picture"? Do they really know what's being debated behind closed doors?

Sure, that may sound paranoid. Maybe it is. But then ... many in Britain and France would have said the same thing about a prospect of WW2 still even in 1938.

I really believe that if the West leaves Putin alone, he'll not do much else. Please remember, he's the one responding, not the aggressor as Hitler was in 38'. I don't think these Hitler/WW2 comparisons are helpful.

Actually, I see many parallels between the Nazi perception of being entangled, encircled and kept down by the WW1 allies on top of the painful loss of world power status (yeah, most Nazis believed too they were just "defending" Germany against an aggression by the West), and according perceptions within the Russian elite today.

Of course that doesn't mean the situation is exactly the same. And Putin is certainly not Hitler.

However, this comparison seems much more plausible to me in this case than in case of the dozens of times someone has been compared to Hitler since Stalin's death.

I think this is the most serious escalation of tensions between the US and Russia/USSR since the Cuban Missile Crisis. Right now Russia has a naval destroyer likely armed with nukes off the coast of Florida. Florida is home of the US Central Command, US Southern Command and right on the border on the east coast port of the US Navy's Ohio-class submarines that carry most of US active inventory of strategic thermonuclear warheads.

The US and possibly the EU (although Victoria Nuland said, "**** the EU), supported the violent overthrow of the Ukrainian government and Russia moved to secure their assets, property and interests of Russian speaking Ukrainians, and we keep hearing "Hitler"!!!

Why the outrage over the West's actions? Russia is doing the same and has been doing the same all the time. Russia is not better. Certainly not in a superior moral position, even if the West isn't either.

Why the outrage over Russia's actions? I'm not saying Russia is better or worse. IN THIS SITUATION, Russia is right, and Germany is safe from becoming a Russian satellite. I'm trying to make you feel better about this. You should eat one of those wonderful bratwursts you have over there, wash it down with that good beer you have over their, and watch the horse races!

You don't think Russia supported a side in internal Ukrainian politics? Are you truly that naive?

Or is it somehow okay for them to do it, but bad for the US to do it?

Dozens? More like dozens of millions.

Of course Russia supported the legitimate government of the Ukraine, gave them bribe money and swayed their decision. The West (US) not liking that, instigated protests resulting in protester violence, the destruction of public property, the seizure of the Ukrainian military and a Declaration of Independence. And Russia called bull **** on another corrupt US foreign policy action. I can't believe how I have to labor to explain these things to you!

So bribing and swaying is only okay when...what? When it's not the US doing it? When the US does it, it's bad and now justifies an invasion?

I didn't say that. More lies. The US didn't stop with carrots on a stick. When Russia succeeded in the Ukrainian courting process, the US got pissed, spawned a coup, toppled the Ukrainian government and created a crisis on Russia's border, far from home again, and Russia has called bull****, and Russia is right on this. By the way. I'm not the only one on this board that feels that way. Take a break from your Monte infatuation and look at what others are saying.

Ah, so now you're saying that this was a US-made coup. I'm glad you're on the record for that. Since you also think that all protests against governments the US doesn't like are created by the US (because no one can really dislike something that the US also dislikes, in your world), this is shockingly consistent of you. So good job on that.

It's not the first time I said that dude! You need some sleep.

Your continual personal attacks are testimony to your failed debating skills.

If that's the case, what do your continued logical fallacies constitute? Your lies about what was said/

So Monte, what was the last foreign policy that you think the US was "right" with? Keeping in mind that your version of right and theirs are very different, as they're interested in furthering US interests and you're interesting in...not that

World War 3 is possible, just like free beer is possible.

I don't expect to see either one anytime soon.

I don't even expect to see much of a kerfuffle in the Ukraine. Neither side has much of an appetite for that.

Who is going to fight and die for what? Any ideas?

What has Obama accomplished that will contribute to the betterment of the county's future and the betterment of the prospects of the upcoming generation?

Perhaps you should refute my claim.
