Three years after he launched himself on an unsuspecting American public as a prime-time interrogator of politicians and celebrities, Piers Morgan has admitted defeat in the nightly ratings battle and plans to step down from his CNN show.
The former tabloid editor, who has transformed himself into a cable news personality, said that dwindling viewing figures and an anti-gun campaign that alienated a vast swath of his audience had led him to conclude that his show had “run its course”.

He was passable as a talent show judge when taken as part of a mix. Should have stayed there.
 
Good, CNN used to be a respectable news source but people like this and their opinion shows are a big reason its not so respected anymore.

I have never wished harder for a raging, building-consuming inferno to strike anywhere than I did when Alex Jones was on Piers Morgan's show.

Never did like this guy. Then again, I really never liked Larry King either. At least Larry didn't try to lecture everyone with a foreign agenda.

Yes, he's been an asshole from the start. It's my understanding that he's also worn out his welcome in the UK just as he has here for much the same reasons. So where does he go next? I have no idea, but I'm not all that worried about him anyway.

I thought it was great that he was on the air. The more people who can see the face of liberalism the better for society. He was a terrific calling card for liberals.
 
It was amateur hour on that program anyway. It was hardly anything more than a celebrity tabloid program that found a niche in making really bad anti-gun manufacturer and NRA member statements. It's quite okay enough to have significant criticisms of anti-gun controllers, but the show just sucked. Any entry-level college student would have said what Piers said, and just as convincingly.

I just hope they don't try to find a Nancy Grace or a Lou Dobs to fill the slot. Something decent, please.

Foreign ideas are good to air out in American circles, since a decent chunk of the time, the American Left borrows quite a bit from them. I also just happen to like hearing most orientations give their view. That being said, at least find someone to do it with intelligence. If it is childish, you can guarantee I won't want to watch it.
 
Oh God! We don't want him back - we were as relieved to see his arse disappearing over the horizon as we were to see those of the so-called 'Pilgrim Fathers' 400 years ago. :mrgreen:
