America is fed up of me: Morgan to quit CNN job

I thought it was great that he was on the air. The more people who can see the face of liberalism the better for society. He was a terrific calling card for liberals.

There are shock jocks on both sides of the spectrum. I actually wouldn't mind if Morgan took Bill O'Reilly with him (I know, I know, different network).

Oh, please. Piers Morgan is only the face of the imaginary liberal in your head.

Now if the US would just revoke Morgan's visa and ship him back over the pond, I'd be ever so grateful!

Not surprised. His show was horrible i think i saw about 5 minutes of it and i turned it. then cnn wonders why they don't have people watching their station.

Yea, and he can take Justin Bieber with him.

US air quality would also improve.

Can't say I'll miss him as I never watched his show ... I've seen a few controversial clips I think but none of even those stand out in my mind and I can't remember the subject or what made it controversial.

Good, now we just need him to quit planet Earth and move to the moon.

See also: Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh...

I'm sure you wouldn't miss assholes like Limbaugh, Hannity, etc. Yawn.

they at least are American citizens. PM was an arrogant POS who looked down on this country. When you have far left hacks like Whoopie Goldberg saying he was arrogant (while agreeing with PMs hysterical anti gun idiocy) you know the man was a douche bag

Yeah, but the operable requirement was that people actually saw him. I doubt his show was even watched by half of his production crew.

More of a general asshole and incompetent douchebag than controversial was my impression. And he talked about guns, so the right wing then reinforces their murder/revolution fantasies.

Dayum. Definitely not feeling the love for this guy. Any particular clips that would fill me in on why everyone hates him?

Yeah, but it's not a very convincing arrogance, is it? Rich snobs like Paris Hilton can come off as elitist, but they lack the finesse or experience of achieving arrogance with any authority. We would rather listen to her Pop or Grandpappy, right?

Piers was a glorified TMZ TV host. He was, at his best, like a seasoned Entertainment Weekly anchor interviewing the President and giving his political advice.

Chris Matthews is arrogant, but he has a lot more know-how and experience to come up with convincing (but often incredibly hackish) statements. His arrogance thus comes with a degree of substance. Piers has none of that.

*bump*

Being the last post on the previous page sucks.

I don't hate him or wish him ill, but he comes across as smarmy and condescending.

Piers Morgan was on CNN.

Thanks, Obama.

My first impulse is that I like Howard Stern as an AGT judge much better than I liked Piers. When Piers went to CNN though, I was disappointed as I would like CNN to regain its former respect as a news organization. Veering CNN sharply left--and Piers Morgan helped do that--has diminished it to be No. 3 among the big three on cable. Even MSNBC, as blatantly and unapologetically partisan and dishonest as it is, gets better ratings than CNN does on American television. Fox News continues to gain more market share than all the other cable news channels combined with O'Reilly leading everybody in ratings, and it does need some competition lest it become complacent and lazy.

But as for Piers Morgan. Toodle ooo. He had to be one of the least charismatic, least competent, and most boring personality CNN could have found to put in that chair.

Nah. That **** takes time.

You are a lazy bastard, but an honest one.

If you search his name on Youtube, all of his anti-gun interviews will be on the first results page.

He thought that being a rabid British anti gun spokesperson would help his rep, but he severely miscalculated.

When Sandy Hook happened, he ratcheted his BS up a notch, and his few listeners said 'later'.

His own arrogance is what done him in - legend in his own mind - you know the type.

I noticed that his show on DirectTV never showed his guest's name or show subject - I figured that he felt that he was so good that he didn't need that information.

He cooked his own goose.

Nah. That **** takes time.

Even if you are a gun control advocate, his statements were essentially what high school kids could come up with. "Why would anyone need to hunt?" "Why would you need a semi automatic weapon?" "Why dot you call the police." Stuff like that.
