So Obama is asking for a billion tax payer dollars to pass out to areas he deems to be harmed by so called climate change. What are the odds that the money will go to blue states only while weather events in red states will be deemed naturally occurring. Yet another way he and the left can use this manufactured crisis to control the populace and use our tax dollars to buy votes.

"President Obama will pitch a new $1 billion climate change resilience fund during a visit Friday to California.
The fund, which would need to be approved by Congress, is intended to help communities dealing with negative weather that's the result of climate change.

Obama is touting the fund during a trip to California, which has been devastated by a drought that is threatening the Central Valley's agriculture production and has led Gov. Jerry Brown (D) to call on Californians to conserve water.During a call with reporters on Thursday evening, the assistant to the president on science and technology, John Holdren, said, without any doubt, the severe drought plaguing California and a number of other states across the country is tied to climate change.

I don't really want to give you the satisfaction, but I like the irony in your thread title. Global Warming - Slush fund. I honestly laughed when I put the two together, though I'm not sure if was intentional or not.

It would be irony and would be funny if the great lakes were not frozen over and most of the US in a cold snap. Now there's the irony.

I don't know, Swayer, what are the odds? I have an idea, let's look at a different source:

Obama will announce $15 million in aid to help farmers and ranchers implement water conservation practices. This includes $5 million for California and $10 million for hard-hit areas in Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Colorado and New Mexico.

Next theory?

Obama pledges a lot of things. In case you have not noticed he lies a lot. Lets see who gets the lions share of this money when its done. Your link proves my theory because despite the headline the bulk of the article and I suspect the bulk of the assistance too is about Calif. Texas will get the crumbs.

No, that's weather. The irony is you believing the coldest January in a century (in the US) is evidence against global warming.

:lamo Additional irony may also be there are some who believe it is evidence attesting to and proving AGW. Are you one of those folk?

Obama's solution for everything: Throw money at it...even if we don't HAVE the money...even if he mouths platitudes about government spending less...but especially because he knows that Republicans are resistant to more spending of money that we don't have.

It's obvious that this is nothing more than another one of his political tactics for the upcoming election.

Obama is a lame duck. He won't get anything he wants and he knows it. All he has left is political shenanigans. This is one of them.

And you're surprised? Texas gets what it's merited, seeing as California's agricultural output is twice that of Texas's.

Not surprised to see you shift the goal posts, though. First you say that red states won't get anything, now you've moved on to who gets the lion's share. I expect you'll be doing much of that throughout the thread.

Oh come on it's not going to blue states. It's going to competitive senate seats!

I think one would have to be very gullible, at this point, to expect that if Obama gets what he is requesting, that the money will be used in any other way than to reward those who Obama perceives as supporting him and his policies, and largely withheld from those that Obama does not see as supporting him and his policies.

If it is climate change causing the drought, I wonder if $1 billion will be enough. Sounds more like the proverbial drop on the hot dry stone.

You know that's kind of nutty, right? It also doesn't square with past behavior, like offering to Federally fund high speed rails (turned down by their Republican governors) or offering 258 billion in medicaid expansion under the PPACA (turned down by their Republican governors). So before you eviscerate him for a thing he doesn't do, how about you wait for him to actually do it? Otherwise this is all just the realm of looneybin theory.

So 1/2 of ONE BOMBER to help people you are crying about?

What is more useful.

a bomber that will never do anything.

or helping farmers and other people....................

How can a billion dollars change the activity on the Sun ?

California has gone through numerous droughts over the centuries. The only difference this time around, there's too many people living in California because the federal government changed its immigration policies in 1965 and then decided not to enforce our immigration laws.

And people like Jerry Brown still has the welcome mat out at the border.

Well, I'm going to take a one hour long shower as soon as I finish washing my vehicles on my driveway.

No, that's weather. The irony is you believing the coldest January in a century (in the US) is evidence against global warming.

But, the hottest July in a century would be concrete evidence. Right?

Sounds an afternoon worthy of a prince of Dune.
Of course, he wouldn't do the car himself.

Obama wants a slush fund that is ~0.028% of the Federal Budget. How uninteresting.

It would be irony and would be funny if the great lakes were not frozen over and most of the US in a cold snap. Now there's the irony.

It's called climate change and hasn't been seen like this for centuries.
You should know that with the severe drought out West.
Obama will not drag his feet as the House does with this severe drought, etc.

The only difference this time around, there's too many people living in California because the federal government changed its immigration policies in 1965 and then decided not to enforce our immigration laws.
So as always with partisan hacks, the drought out West is the Democrat's fault.
No need to look at the water used by Corporate Farms with GOP subsidies.

And people like Jerry Brown still has the welcome mat out at the border.
No compliment for Gov. Brown saving your state from the idiot Arnold you voted for?
Well, I'm going to take a one hour long shower as soon as I finish washing my vehicles on my driveway.
Which is why the West is SOL, with people like you doing this .
