Ron Paul Launches Clemency Petition For Edward Snowden

Which are the ruling class for the reason they work for the government and have power over the people.

Uhhh...you vote for their bosses...you could get their job whenever you want...that's not a "ruling class" lol

Have they somehow proven to be the peoples friends at some point in history? I must have missed that part in history. Can you tell me about it? Maybe you can refer me to a book on that time period.

hahahahahaahahahaha you do!!! ahhaahahah

Nope, if you can understand the english language it's rather obvious.

This awesome entertainment. To quote RabidAlpaca:

I don't think there's much of a reason to debate with someone who has such an extreme position.

Thankfully, no one really listens to people like you except for laughing purposes. Keep it coming, please.

Uhhh...you vote for their bosses...you could get their job whenever you want...that's not a "ruling class" lol

The distinction is in the power they possess over the people, not in how easy it is for me to become a member.

hahahahahaahahahaha you do!!! ahhaahahah

So, you can't name me a time period when that happened? Good to know.

The words "This awesome entertainment" is not a complete sentence.

Hurling insults is so much easier than debating, isn't it? Keep it coming.

Well when someone says "my opinion is right and everything else is wrong" there's no debate. Remember: people with hilariously extreme positions aren't worth debating.

It would be hard to "prosecute the NSA" without prosecuting the CIC. So, short answer? Hell no the Libbos don't want to prosecute the NSA.

I asked you if you would like to see Clapper and or the NSA prosecuted.

This is where the discussion always gets stupid. Both can be crimes, and one does not mitigate the other.

I don't think one mitigates the other. I'm saying that if Snowden is to be prosecuted for "stealing" state secrets, the NSA ought to be prosecuted for the much larger crime of violating the American people's fourth amendment right, which could easily have been the first. The problem is that some people don't know when their civil liberties have been infringed, or perhaps worse, don't care.

Greetings, MMC. :2wave:

I read something recently, can't remember where, that most people think he is a hero, because he pulled the curtain back to show people the dark ugly side of what is going on, that they would not know otherwise. Was it the right thing to do? I don't know, but you can bet most officials don't like having secrets revealed any more than the rest of us do...hence the outraged clamor!

Howdy Pol! Exactly.

Except that one actually is a crime, the other has been found to be legal, some people just think it should be a crime.

I refuse to believe that you can't wrap your mind around this, so I have to presume you're just trolling.

I see no reference to him making any ruling today. Do you have a link? Or are you referring to the opinion he issued in December, which was neither yesterday nor quite what you represent?

Yes I forgot the link. But your aware of it anyway, it was his words not mine, but just as easily could have been.

Actually you did not post his words.

Mornin' Monte. :2wave: Do people even pay attention to the things that Snowden has stated himself. Do you think that his behavior and his own words sets himself up?

You don't believe that BS that he thought he was trying to Improve the NSA, do you?

"I already won," Snowden said. "As soon as the journalists were able to work, everything that I had been trying to do was validated. Because, remember, I didn't want to change society. I wanted to give society a chance to determine if it should change itself."

Last week, a White House-appointed panel proposed curbs on some key NSA surveillance operations, recommending limits on a program to collect records of billions of telephone calls, and new tests before Washington spies on foreign leaders. The panel's proposals were made in the wake of Snowden's revelations.

President Barack Obama later tried to strike a middle ground, saying some checks were needed on the NSA's surveillance, but "we can't unilaterally disarm.

In the interview, Snowden denied he was trying to bring down the NSA. "I am working to improve the NSA," he said. "I am still working for the NSA right now. They are the only ones who don't realize it.".....snip~

Mission accomplished, says Snowden: Washington Post - Reuters News 12/23/2013 11:34 PM

Yes the guy who used another to get into some things, using some program to trace and copy over intel, and all that validated experience which shows he is one of the most intelligent people in the intelligence world and able to act as a cryptologist with all he never understood. But knowing it was important......

Do you think he could have went to the Press with the barest of Validated info and still proved his point without endangering others and affect US National Interests?

Hey bud, I'm not satisfied that he's harmed anything. Embarrassed, perhaps. For me, Snowden is a whistle blower and the benefit outweighs the cost. I've had a problem with the NSA since the Church committees findings.

Oh yes, I remember your position now. You're in the "There are proper channels he could've chosen." group. You can't really use that to challenge the president and congress. You're reporting to them something they already know and are actively choosing to do. That never would've brought this to light.

Right. It's a joke that the government is going to provide proper channels for people to expose their wrong doing. Obama campaigned on improving whistle blower protections but has prosecuted more of them than any predecessor.

Uhhh...he didn't harm intelligence collection in Germany, Mexico, and China by sharing details about US intelligence operations against those countries? What world do you live in?

The, I'm not scared world.

The, I'm not scared world.

You seem to be very scared of the NSA.

You also seem to not understand that he did indeed harm intelligence collection against those countries (and more) by sharing details of those operations with the world. What does that have to do with fear? It did. Like...that's really not arguable. lol

I'm not concerned about that. I don't concern myself with Germany. I do however concern myself with my fourth amendment right, its personal and your opinion on it is irrelevant. When the people fear the government, there's tyranny, when the government fears the people there's peace.

I'm not concerned about that.

lol then no wonder you said:

Hey bud, I'm not satisfied that he's harmed anything.

You just don't care! hahahahahahaha

No wonder you're so afraid of the NSA, you don't care about anything it does unless it's collect your phone's metadata.

How about this: don't say that you're "not satisfied he's harmed anything" when it's clear you just don't care about the things he has indeed harmed. Christ, talk about living in fear. You're so scared of the NSA.
