MSNBC Cuts Off Congresswoman Talking About NSA To Get To 'Breaking News' About J.B.

Re: MSNBC Cuts Off Congresswoman Talking About NSA To Get To 'Breaking News' About J.

One reason I quit watching TV news is because they care more about Justin Bieber type stories than the NSA spying on us. Back in 2005, Fox spent more time on Natalee Halloway than the Iraq War. As I recall, Jessie Ventura called Sean Hannity out on that fact once and Allan "Don't call me Sherlock" Holmes pulled Sean's ass out of the fire buy calling Jessie out on his Trutherism.

That was actually good TV. It showed me who the real brains was behind Hannity and Colmes.

Re: MSNBC Cuts Off Congresswoman Talking About NSA To Get To 'Breaking News' About J.

Well, I agree with you, but Mitchell implied she would get back to Jane Harman. Why do you think Andrea Mitchell had Harman on her show? To compare potato latke recipes? lol

Their is more to it.

1. This was a interview about the NSA surveillance (Very important)

2. They interrupted a Congresswoman (Important government person who is probably a very busy person)

3. They did not bring us any News (The life and times of (Insert celebrity name here) does not count as news)

As the article said "Apparently, making sure they cover Bieber's bond hearing live is more important than discussing the US government surveilling every American illegally." With a Congresswoman

Re: MSNBC Cuts Off Congresswoman Talking About NSA To Get To 'Breaking News' About J.

Your opinion is noted and slightly inaccurate, she is no longer a Congresswoman, she retired Feb 2011.

But at the Time she was.

No you did not read that wrong, here is the article, Journalism! MSNBC Cuts Off Congresswoman Talking About NSA To Get To 'Breaking News' About Justin Bieber | Techdirt

I have no idea what to say about this beside the stander anti-news rage. So I will ask what was your reaction to this?

I do not get why political commentators are talking him or that foot player.Last I checked their job is to talk political stuff, not comment on what athletes, musicians and other celebs did unless it was somehow related to politics. Is Bieber politically active, did he comment on 2nd amendment rights, did he say something about abortion, did say something about the president, war in Afghanistan, go to North Korea, or anything else politically related? If not then let TMZ and other bull**** moron news cover Bieber.

Re: MSNBC Cuts Off Congresswoman Talking About NSA To Get To 'Breaking News' About J.

It is a private company that runs MSNBC, they can do whatever they want.

And they thought that Bieber would bring in more viewers then the Congresswoman...they are probably right.

It is an unfortunate situation...but I have no problem with what they did.

Then They should not call them self a news agency.

Re: MSNBC Cuts Off Congresswoman Talking About NSA To Get To 'Breaking News' About J.

Luckily, she's a Democrat, so we'll be spared the usual caterwauling about the "eeeevil Liberul Meeedja."

Re: MSNBC Cuts Off Congresswoman Talking About NSA To Get To 'Breaking News' About J.

MSNBC isn't a news production. It is acting, an entertainment production. So it was appropriate for them to do so.

Re: MSNBC Cuts Off Congresswoman Talking About NSA To Get To 'Breaking News' About J.

Dang, Speckle? No TV? Holy smokes! I might have an old 378,048 inch LED TV up in my attic. You're welcome to it!

Nah, thanks, ignorance is bliss.

I grew up without TV and I was 30 years old before I saw a color TV set when I moved from Korea to Las Vegas. So, I never picked up the habit. I don't criticize TV watching, I've even thought about getting one once I sell my bookcases and get some wall space. Now that they are wireless, they won't offend my sense of esthetics and if I get one, I'll get a really big one.

A LIBRARY OF SPECKLEBANG.jpg

This is the wall I hope to use. Books are obsolete now that I have a Kindle but they are hard to get rid of. But by 2015 I hope to try this project out.

sell your book case? Nooo..don't do that. Use them to put little planters with those plants that have those long, sharp pointed leaves.

I have a "black thumb" and even plastic flowers wilt if I come near them. Blessed are the pot sellers, illusion dwellers.

Plus, if I want to own a TV before I die, that's the only large wall I have. I have $6K invested in those bookcases and thousands more in books. But the time has come the walrus said.

Then it appears you can place a TV between them. So...just keep them.

Above all, TV is a business. That business makes money from ratings. Their research shows people are more likely to be glued to their TVs if they break away and offer the latest from Justin Beiber's arrest than talking with a Congresswoman. Its not just MSNBC. FOX News likes live police chases a whole lot. I think I do too.

I tried to measure it out if I removed "tall guy" the cabinet but there isn't enough room for a 70" TV and I'm low vision so I need a big TV. I've had them for a decade and I'm ready to let them go if I can find a buyer. I have them on Craig's and Ebay but so far I just sold $200 worth of books.

gezzzzzzzz... I hope like hell some appreciates the book cases and they get a good home. And you get a respectable price for them...

I have them listed for $2K which is 1/3 of the original cost. They are no longer in production. But do people still read?

I have a lot of signed books, obscure books and a 1701 Gutenberg Bible that I'll probably throw in on the deal. I really should list them but 700 books is just too much work.

Well, not if you start a list and do about 10 listings every day (or more if you're bored)...for a couple of months. They most likely aren't going anywhere at a rapid pace.

Maybe I'll try. I'm working on a business project right now and it isn't the listing, it's the packing and shipping that scare me. I'm just a lazy bone, I learned it from the cats.

can we get back on topic?

Re: MSNBC Cuts Off Congresswoman Talking About NSA To Get To 'Breaking News' About J.

Stupid that they interrupted for a "breaking news" broadcast of justin beaver. The kid was an idiot before all this and still is. Not worth the time to fill up this post with. Picking between the two..i'd rather listen about the NSA.

To Specklebang....imo its a shame you're getting rid of all that. Books imo will never...correction....should never go out of style. Nothing like the feel and smell of a good book between your hands. I'd much rather have that than a kindle any day of the week. If nothing else you could always keep them and hand them down to your children and hope they do the same with their children. You are right that they are going out of style and as such they will eventually be worth tons of money to collectors.

Re: MSNBC Cuts Off Congresswoman Talking About NSA To Get To 'Breaking News' About J.

I seriously don't see a problem here, Andrea Mitchell clearly said "just for a moment please stand by."

lol. Well, at least you are consistent

Man, this is just so surreal to see someone raise that as if it was a legitimate point here

If you have a smart phone, just download the amazon scanner ap. This way you just scan the books, add them to your cart, then use that to list them. All listing them like this consists of is appraising the condition of the book and picking a price.

Re: MSNBC Cuts Off Congresswoman Talking About NSA To Get To 'Breaking News' About J.

I suspect that most MSNBC viewers know all about Justin Biber, whereas most don't know anything about Benghazi. Remember Benghazi is a three-syllable word; something few MSNBC viewers deal with very often.
