Mayor Claims Christie Camp Held Hurricane Sandy Money Hostage

Now I realize you were comparing Christie to being better than Chicago politics.
Pretty low bar don't you think?
Chicago started down the Christie path in the 1920's with a GOP governor who was indicted along with the GOP Mayor and Capone .

1920s republican? Do you mean democrat?

Lennington Small, GOP governor in Illinois from 1921 to 1929.
His family still owns seven newspapers, based out of Kankakee, Capone's 2nd home.
After being indicted in office, Small was found not guilty and 8 of the 12 jurors then got jobs with the State of Illinois.
The beginning of "pay-for-play in IL, scatt .

Somehow I just don't see Christie ever limiting his meal to what will fit in our old mess kits.

IF he had 'buddied' up to the liberals he wouldn't be in this mess... and it wasn't an offended CON in the bridge incident. He tried to position himself as a 'uniter' like BushII but like BushII had a grade school bully complex just under the high dollar suit. Christie played fast and loose with the rules and it has come back to bite him in his ample buttocks. Problem with someone who throws their weight around is once a weakness is uncovered, those who he pushed around on the way up are all too happy to take a swipe at him on the way down.

I'm sure some very small minded CONs are enjoying Christie's pain, like Cruz and the like, but the Sunday Morning Squabble Shows had a pack of CONs running to the NJ governor's aid with everything from deflection to dismissal.

I'll rush to Christie's defense, since there's no evidence that he did anything illegal.

But he's lawyered up and his top aide went 5th.
Hope he's enjoying his time with a governor with invoked the 5th 77 times .

Ueah, but you people keep saying that Republicans werr Libbos, back then.

Maybe this will help you out a little with exactly who oversees what in Sandy relief funds: Tracking the Federal Sandy Aid Money One Year Later - NJ Spotlight

I you bother to read it, you will note that Hoboken received millions for upgrading it's terminal alone, not counting the funds dispersed to individuals, businesses and so on. The relief funds the mayor is referring to are apparently only those funds the local government itself directly received, and hardly represents the total funds distributed in Hoboken at all. I'll give you credit, though. It was a nice try.

The terminal is used by residents all around the state. It's not aid to Hoboken residents, of which the article you linked doesn't mention a penny of aid given to those residents

Nice try

That doesn't mean Christie broke the law.

Lois Lerner "went 5th" too. Why has the halfass investigation of the IRS been concluded?

Because I$$A couldn't find anything.
Why has the halfass investigation of the IRS been concluded?

Should ISSA face the same punishment as Snowden, since both are leakers of classified docs ?

Republicans were in league with the Southern Conservative KKK during the 1920's on Prohibition.
Which led to the formal creation of the MOB in Christie's Atlantic City, NJ.
Ueah, but you people keep saying that Republicans werr Libbos, back then.
We're now hearing the "I" word for Christie's 2nd term .

Discrimination is only acceptable if the victim of said discrimination is NOT a Democrat. Secondly, I have a hand written note here from my diary that says Obama is a space alien, illuminati and 32nd degree mason, and is bribing the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, so it must be true.

Wouldn't that be funny if it was Christy against Hillary and all through the campaign he kept repeating there was a vast left wing conspiracy against him. It would be even funnier for him to say that in a debate with the camera on her face.

Ha Ha...Yep. He could say something like: The democrats have created this atmosphere of non-cooperation, creating these phony scandals etc.

Yeah, the Hoboken residents don't use the terminal at all. It's of no benefit to them. You're moving the goalposts in a futile effort to demonstrate that which is obviously not true. The link I posted proves the falsity of the claim made by another poster that Hoboken received only a few hundred thousand dollars in Sandy aid. Nice try, yourself.

You wouldn't have to make up things I never said if you had a decent argument to make

Hoboken was under several feet of water. Homes and businesses were damaged. So far, there's no evidence that they received anything other than a few hundred thousand dollars to help the owners of those homes and businesses repair their homes and places of business.

Keep trying.

Bull crap. The information I linked tells another story entirely. I don't care if Hoboken was submerged for centuries. The various agencies described in the link, and their functions with regard to recovery are devoted to precisely what you complain about - your complaint is entirely and completely without substance, as the link demonstrates. HUD offers assistance for "Housing", which is what the "H" in HUD stands for, amazingly enough. Read the link and stop spinning. (I have it on good authority that Christie even arranged funding for a machine gun wall in Hoboken so that democrat voters could all report and be gunned down in one specific spot, saving others time and money. Might have read that in the DailyKos, or something. Maybe not. But Christie is a really, really bad man. Bad man).

It has been pointed out that Hoboken residents and businesses did receive assistance. That is, the few hundred thousand dollars that no one has denied it has received.

However, so far you have completely failed at showing that Gov Chunk Chunkie provided any other assistance to Hoboken other than that.

So keep on wailing about how people are being unfair to him. It only emphasizes your complete failure to show that Hoboken received more than what has been claimed.

I just read where Hoboken had been approved for 70M Federal $ in disaster relief.
Not enough?

I already did. That you ignore it because it doesn't fit your narrative is your problem, not mine.

She asked for 100 million from the hazard mitigation fund, which totaled ~300 million for the whole state. She ended up with 70 million combined from the hazard mitigation fund and direct federal aid.

There is no evidence that she was threatened. this mayor herself even said like 2 or 3 weeks ago that she was not threatened or anything of that nature. She has told multiple stories
all different from the last. She has a credibility issue with what she keeps saying and can't keep her story straight.

needless to say it is just MSNBC daily kos, politico, huffpo basically the bottom of the barrel when it comes to any type of news peddling this crap.

they are going to end up pulling another dan rather and they are going to look stupid doing it.

Allow me to enhance the fruitlessness of your assertion. Christie's Camp Fires Back: The Facts on Hoboken's Sandy Recovery Aid | newjerseynewsroom.com

In fact, I'm now beginning to wonder just how clean this mayor is. Maybe she can explain why she feels Hoboken is entitled to a disproportionate share of relief funds at the expense of the rest of NJ. That would be interesting.

Your link is just more BS offered to distract. It lists money that Federal agencies (ex FEMA and SBA) has awarded, and insurance payments, not the money that Christie controlled.

When it comes to the monye Christie controlled, it lists monies given on 1/19/2014 - two days ago (IOW, since the story broke).

Your own links says:
Hazard Mitigation funding is federal funding specifically targeted to prevent and mitigate against future hazards and flooding. This is not funding for Sandy rebuilding efforts

And the underlying point is that Christie's aides made the possibility of getting more aid for Hoboken contingent on the mayor supporting a development project that Christie favored.
