Mayor Claims Christie Camp Held Hurricane Sandy Money Hostage

Yes you are implying in so many words that it is all good. I mean listen to yourself...

Multiple scandals come out showing that Christie is likely behaving in an abusive, aggressive, mobster like manner and you chalk it up to politics as usual? Everyone is like this? Have you ever worked in politics? They are not ALL like this?!?!? There's a difference between making hard nosed deals and blackmail!

This is grade-a spin nonsense.

Yes, I have worked in politics, and everyone who has power uses it in ways to further their political and/or ideological goals. There are very few, if any, who enter politics for altruistic reasons and certainly precious few who get anywhere near the seats of power who remain totally altruistic. What do you think goes on in Congress every day or between Congress and the President?

Yes its dirty but they're not all this bad, far from it. If this is all true Christie crossed the line, big time and he deserves to get taken out of power for good. There are a lot of good politicians out there who do it for altruistic reasons, maybe you just haven't met many. You might be surprised how many on the left are actually really good people who just aren't in a position to do much because the larger powers are in control.

I bet Christie wishes he had gone to that beer summit with Rand Paul now!

You're right! Christie **** in his mess kit by trying to buddy-up to the Libbos and bashing Republicans.

Our lovely Wonkette sums it up nicely:

So let’s recap, shall we? We’ve got Bridgegate, which started out small and then snowballed into “Christie lied, people died” levels of problem.

Then there was the little problem about how he took some Hurricane Sandy money earmarked for tourism revitalization ads and, while he did totally make ads with that money, he did so by giving sweet coin to the highest bidder on the project,

who just happened
to guarantee that the featured ad would include maximum footage of Chris Christie and his family. Now, we’ve got the almost laughably stereotypic mob pay to play move of telling Hoboken “hey, nice city you got there. Shame if anything were to happen to it.”

Seriously, we cannot WAIT to see what happens next. Can you?

I thought hyperbole was a Libbo's best friend?

That's what ya get for trying to do your own thinking...

Actually it is part and parcel of your typical CON game. Oxcy Rush has made his money hypering his bole off for the silly CON sheeple flocking to be that one PT Barum thought was born every minute....

As with Travon/Zimmerman and ACA, we may be needing a new sub-forum for Sir Christie .

Good, and directly to the point. The elapsed time is telling.
Not really. It seems that she was afraid to be further f'd over by Christie which would've been way more likely back then when hers may have been the only scandal. Even the Ft. Lee issue would've not gotten off the ground except for the fact that the NY side of the bridge gave Ft. Lee's mayor the backup it needed to be taken seriously and to keep things enough in the news that further retaliation against them wouldn't likely occur due to the focus on his actions just now. Makes perfect sense, just as when a rapist is caught, it's not unusual for more rape victims to come forward knowing they will more likely be handled fairly.

Somehow I just don't see Christie ever limiting his meal to what will fit in our old mess kits.

IF he had 'buddied' up to the liberals he wouldn't be in this mess... and it wasn't an offended CON in the bridge incident. He tried to position himself as a 'uniter' like BushII but like BushII had a grade school bully complex just under the high dollar suit. Christie played fast and loose with the rules and it has come back to bite him in his ample buttocks. Problem with someone who throws their weight around is once a weakness is uncovered, those who he pushed around on the way up are all too happy to take a swipe at him on the way down.

I'm sure some very small minded CONs are enjoying Christie's pain, like Cruz and the like, but the Sunday Morning Squabble Shows had a pack of CONs running to the NJ governor's aid with everything from deflection to dismissal.

He should go to jail if this is true and everyone involved, same for bridgegate. The same with irs scandal. I mean everyone involved, President and Governor first.
If Christie should go to the jail for "bridgegate", Obama have to go to electrical chair for his lies and violation of the Constitution.

Yes. She is yet another victim of Christie. And so is all of Hoboken by extension. Really, all of NJ. Are you kidding? You assume truth with her revelation and assume the falsity of the denials with no proof at all in any of it on either side. I'll wait until some verifiable information surfaces one way or another before reaching a conclusion myself.

First of all, I haven't responded to whether it is true or not, simply a reasonable explanation as to why she waited. Secondly, seems to me that Hoboken, one of the most populated areas of the state, not receiving but a couple 100K of the Sandy grant money in and of itself is pretty damning. Clearly it's already proven the Christy is playing games with that money, so it seems likely that her story is true. I am open to finding out it is not.

Everybody has a voice with their vote; please choose from these options we have provided for you. Oh, and voting third party is a complete waste of your vote, so don't bother.

no, it isn't. the only wasted vote is a vote not cast, or one that is coerced into voting for a candidate simply because he or she is one of the Fisher Price My First Political Party's lesser of two evils.

edit : missed the sarcasm. carry on.

The 2016 election has barely even started and already the GOP front-runner is on the ropes. :lamo

I swear the absurdity of the Republican party is so grand that it almost makes this pile of steaming dysfunction worth it just for the laughs. I fondly recall the last election and every day it was another jaw dropper. Romney caught on video calling half the country lazy, poor, trash. Newt, the family values Republican that cheated and left his wives on their deathbed to build a space colony. Cain rising to the top only to be knocked out by she said, she said, she said, she said.

It almost brings a tear to my eye reminiscing about the old days. But apparently its already started again.

I look forward to this next right-wing circus.

Mayor Zimmer met with the U.S. Attorney last night---fact.
And now the Lt. Gov. is denying the claim by the Mayor:popcorn2: .

This is right out of the Christie quote book when he took off on the reporter with his infamous "cone" sequence .

evidence on Mr. Obama, since you're changing the thread content ?

:agree: Since Sandy hit the end of October 2012,.......... How much money have they received in the meantime to help those affected? Christie is a politician, and would not antagonize voters by withholding money meant to help them! I may be wrong, but he seems to care about the people of his State!

Greetings, humbolt. :2wave:

It could be a reasonable explanation. Or another reasonable explanation could be that she is simply pursuing a political opportunity by whatever means she can. I don't know how much damage Hoboken experienced from Sandy, so I can't comment regarding the amount the city received. If Christie was playing games with the money, it's apparently in a manner Obama endorsed, from what I've heard. That doesn't make it right, but I would think that any opportunity the political left might have to demonstrate such a thing would have been seized upon before now. Maybe not. I simply don't know. I have a sneaking suspicion we're going to find out that Christie picked his nose and ate it when he was a child very soon now.

How are you today? I have a hard time believing all the hype myself, as well. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Jimmy Hoffa is buried in Christie's back yard.

Well since you don't know, perhaps you should just shut up. Hoboken is below sea level and took a huge hit. Please be sure to give links to any idea that Obama has endorsed Christie's bull. Seems unlikely since no one until about a month ago even knew Christie was being such an ass and, as far as I know, Obama doesn't micro manage emergency aid sent to states. Oh well, I guess you haters gotta hate, huh?

Feeling very well, :thanks:. I read somewhere that Hoffa is supposedly buried in Yankee Stadium somewhere, so we'll let Cuomo have that honor, knowing how fond Dems are of union people!

WTF? Maybe you should just get your news from the tabloids and spare me the schmucky comments. From what I can tell, there is no proof Christie "was being such an ass" at all, and if you have such proof, I have no doubt that many in the media will be looking forward to you offering it. All I've heard is rumor and innuendo with no verification at all. Until then I'm going to withhold my judgement. You can rush about screaming if you like.
