Kindle Führer: “Mein Kampf” Tops Amazon Charts

Well, the talk radio of my youth was quite literally talking -- or rather, the kind of talking you'd expect between interested adults in a bar discussing current events. It wasn't hysterical, it wasn't designed to whip people into a frenzy. The audience was attracted more by the personability of the host, rather than the temperature of their spew. Bruce Williams is an excellent example of this, Paul Harvey (to a lesser extent) another.

Did Paul Harvey have his own talk radio program on the East Coast.

I don't think the FCC allowed nationwide syndication of talk radio until the late 80's or early 90's. When the rules changed, Rush Limbaugh was one of the first to go syndication all across America.

Are you arguing here that the only difference between radical Democrats today and Nazis is that the Democrats aren't nationalist, or am I reading you wrong?

Not Democrats, there are many Democrats who are patriotic nationalist. Referring to the radicals who control the Democrat Party. They hide behind labels like "liberal" or "progressive" but are neither.

It wasn't so much that syndication wasn't allowed as it was that controversial hosts had to be balanced by opposing viewpoints, which discouraged radio stations from broadcasting controversial hosts.

That label wasn't applied to Harvey. His career took off in Chicago and was syndicated early on enough for his voice to be one of those I grew up on.

... and now you know the rest of the story.

It couldn't be people are reading it to learn of the philosophy. No, that can't be it. Obviously, if you read a book on philosophy you can't just being doing it to learn. Maybe I'm strange, maybe I'm not, but I like to know of the philosophies of my opponents.

The biggest loser of all time in print forever. If there was hope for me. OMG, my thesis, and it sucks.
I forgot, how many times does he say Jew" or some form of Jew"? Let me answer that... 513 times. What an idiot; a book dumbed down to the exact level for neoNAZIs, sub idiot.

0.921005386 Jew per page of Hitler Rant.

A hint which group he might go nuts on if he was MFWIC.? oops

Kind of like how often Obama mentions himself every time he opens his mouth.

... Why are so many reading "Mein Kampf" today ? ...
Why did you read it?
I read it to find out how his hate was formed, and discover evil lives in ignorance. "Know your enemy" comes to mind. The opposite of diversity, is Hitler. Einstein did not have to read it to know Hitler was an idiot, and thug.

Why? It is .99, and kids have no clue that is ~1 dollar. Math.
The only book they can buy on minimum wage. They don't know where the library is. The NAZIs forgot to burn it.

.99 cents is a big reason.
Ignorance is the other, they don't know it is free on the Internet. Why pay for it, when you already pay for access to it.

I just couldn't believe that Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck were lumped in as powerhouses!!

I'm just surprised there are still people like you who buy the "national socialist" label. I suppose you also think North Korea is a democracy.

That's what I'm thinking, people are reading it out of curiosity.

With the failure of Obama, maybe the left are thinking abandoning internationalist socialism and thinking of going the way of nationalist socialism ?

When you look at the progressives (true progressives) during America's progressive era, it was close to nationalist socialism.

Maybe, I don't know, the failure of George Bush didn't seem to have the opposite effect!

The reason why I read it, it was required reading for a BA in history and political science back in the day. Just like reading Emerich de Vattel's "The Law of Nations" when taking a course on the American Constitution or Constitutional Law. A book that the fringe on the left don't want people reading, especially judges.

BTW: The Constitution isn't based upon English Common Law but the PRINCIPLES OF THE LAW OF NATURE aka "The Law of Nations."

And you probably think the United States is a democracy ?

It's a REPUBLIC.

BTW: It's nationalist not national. One could say nationalist are nativist. You know, America first. America # 1.

Have you ever read the Progressives Dillingham Commission report to Congress ?

That's exactly what I was going to say, what gives ?

I haven't read "Mein Kampf" in over forty years. May have to read it again.

So what say you ? What's your take on this ?

If someone wants to read it, get after it.

I won't be rereading it any time soon, I have better things to do with my time.

I remember one of the first talk radio programs during the 1960's. On the Left Coast it was Joe Pyne. A conservative WW ll combat Marine vet who lost his leg in the Pacific and always packed a handgun.

By the mid 60's he went on television with his own show.
During the Watts riots I remember when he pulled the handgun out while asking a pantywaist liberal, how were you going to protect your family, with spit wads he asked ? (Yep, they had pantywaist liberals during the mid 60's.

One famous tale recounted by Steadman Upham, president of Chapman University, in his address Wooden Leg or Table: The Changing Landscape of American Education (1999) is how he lost a verbal duel with rock musician Frank Zappa. Pyne insulted Zappa by saying, "So I guess your long hair makes you a woman." Zappa replied, "So I guess your wooden leg makes you a table." While it sounds plausible, no one who was around at that time recalls it happening, nor is there any evidence that Frank Zappa was ever on the Joe Pyne Show.

Good rebuttal from Zappa if true

So I had to look up Zappa. And here is an interesting interview:

If Hitler were have never invaded Poland and France and the rest of Europe had gone with the Madagascar Plan dealing with Europe's Jewish problem, Hitler may have been the most famous man in the world today.

Look at what he accomplished in Germany is a short time. When Hitler came into power, Germany was a basket case. Hitler brought recovery in Germany while America and the rest of the world were still in a depression. I think FDR tried some of the things Hitler did that were successful. Like FDR's CCC. But the CCC wasn't really that successful. Most Americans already knew how to use a shovel. While Hitler built the autobahn, FDR built hiking trails and bridges to no where.

Some yeas ago I was in a research library and read the only interview of Hitler by an English speaking journalist. It was an eye opener. I think the interview took place in or around 1936. I searched and searched all over the internet and can't find the interview. But Hitler mentioned Stalin and compared his form of socialism to Stalins communist form of socialism.

With in months an American journalist conducted an interview with Stalin. Stalin also brought up Hitler and acknowledges the great accomplishments Hitler made in Germany then went on to say that the Soviets form of socialism was a better form of socialism than nationalist socialism.

It's been over forty years since I read "Mien Kampf", but I still remember Hitler's views on America. We were to far gone, a mongolized nation. But he touched on imperialism and preferred America's form of imperialism over the UK's or France's form on imperialism.

It's a book worth reading for historical context to understanding where Hitler was coming from and where he was heading. It was all there for everyone to read back before WW ll.

You are a true partisan apache, consistent through and through. FDR's CCC and WPA created fabulous parks, campgrounds, recreational lakes and yes bridges, and they actually go somewhere. And they are usually built of native rock and timber and were built to last. Most of it is still in use and provides recreation for millions of Americans. It had the very added effect of helping struggling Americans during very tough times in our country, allowing them to maintain a level of dignity that was important in those days, rather than a check in the mail to people sitting on their asses.

In rural America he built privies, nice ones that were very much appreciated and an improvement to sanitation for many. I know that's hard to feature, but true. Many of those are still standbys in grandmas back yards.

During the dust bowl, when his advisors told him to just make the people move out of the inflicted area, he said no, those are people's homes and he worked to help provide essentials for people. Water truck deliveries, the first 'meals on wheels' program and windbreaks. Yeah, those awesome rows of closely planted trees that eventually did add some protection from the winds that were carrying away the farm land soils. You can still drive the back roads of Oklahoma and Kansas and see many of them. They are usually a section side in length.

And then there is the New Deal, gotta love that. About the only thing he did bad was to finagle us into another European war. But funny thing about that is, that's peobably the only thing that you like about him. :)

True, why are we always trying to export democracy? I mean I know we're really not its just pretend but, democracy?

Hey Shrub :2wave:

You are living in a place where you were able to talk to those who were a lot older than you and I who were living in Europe during the 1920's and 30's. How big was the "Jewish problem" in Europe back then in France, Poland, Czechoslovakia, etc. back then ? I've heard that anti semitism had a larger presence in Poland than in Germany during that era and France wasn't to far behind Germany.

Jews have always been targeted in Europe for hundreds of years.

I sure am not trying to export democracy. I have realised that some people in the world aren't prepared for democracy or living in a republic.

The Middle East and Africa are perfect examples.

Come to think of it, even Mexico.

I'd guess that it's morbid curiosity more than anything else. It's like owning a copy of the "Human Centipede" or watching "Two Girls One Cup."

It's the kind of train wreck that you simply can't look away from.

A Republic does not have to have democracy

This is true and it's still going on.

I don't own a TV so I'm not up to date on "talking heads". So, I just took my best guess (and clearly identified it as a guess).

You know, that didn't occur to me. So you speculate that "the left" is reading up and preparing to exterminate the jews?

OMG!! Apacherat nailed it. The Jews in New York are planning to commit mass suicide. LOL.
