(CNSNews.com) – American taxpayers spent $7.45 billion to help developing countries cope with climate change in fiscal years 2010 through 2012, according to a federal government report submitted to the United Nations on a subject that Secretary of State John Kerry described as “a truly life-and-death challenge.”

That sum of $7.45 billion, which reached more than 120 countries through bilateral and multilateral channels, met President Obama’s “commitment to provide our fair share” of a collective pledge by developed nations to provide a total of nearly $30 billion in “fast start finance” (FSF), the report stated.

ridiculous, end foreign aid in general. It is theft enough to force American tax payers to give away parts of their income to the government, not to mention handing American taxpayer money out to other countries. The sad part is people think foreign aid is a great thing, then they hate on people on welfare saying they don't want their money given to the poor. People are so illogical. Government is so illogical.

Foreign aid is a great thing, but like literally everything else in the world it can be ineffective if used poorly. However considering that foreign aid is a huge reason Western Europe didn't turn communist after WW2, and considering it saved the US from spending all the extra money that would have required to address that kind of geopolitical situation during the Cold War, foreign aid can work extremely well.

Even not mentioning that, foreign aid buys a lot of good will and can go a long way.

Cut foreign aid, 1/2 of the worlds problems would be solved by year two.

In the meantime, build a modernized version of this with a few open trade routes. Open trade with the world. Voila, peace for the U.S., and finally we can make some money on the stuff we typically give away at the cost of the American taxpayer. I'm sick of being the worlds babysitter/caretaker. If they want to be savages and kill each other, good riddance. This is my caring face  I really dgaf, we are not our brothers keeper, we are Americans and we should take care of our own.

Now if only that 7.45 billion could have been put to good use, like fighting hunger and other issues in America

I have no problem giving foriegn aid to help other countries rebuild after a natural disaster. It is all about good will, but to see 7 billion dollars giving something stupid like this is what is infurating.

that could have been used here in the states instead of handling to that bogus corrupt organization called the UN.
