Phil Robertson returns to A&E

They miscalculated what they stood to lose. It has nothing to do with "free speech" of course, just that A&E makes more money. It's the American way.
 
I bet bith the Duckies and A&E enjoyed the publicity.
 
I think if this story were true it would be up at the Drudge Report... it's not.
 
Now we can focus on the important stuff. Who in their right mind would watch that stupid show once the novelty wears off? It's a show that would quickly get old. After one season, I'd be burned out on it. But, hey, people out there can't get enough of Honey Boo Boo, and I couldn't even watch one full episode of that without clicking it off.

Welll... Yes and no
The shows that were already shot and edited, with Phil, will air, starting January 15th but he is still on suspension for shooting any new shows.
No plans for shooting any new content with the asshole Phil Robertson have been scripted and he remains on suspension.


Some people love to flaunt a half truth as though nobody will check on it.

Honestly, I don't know how much of this is people loving to flaunt half truths and how much of it was just poor info. When I saw this last night from HuffPo they didn't indicate at the time it was pre-taped shows. I saw a number of friends on facebook pointing out that error in the HuffPo article as well. I imagine, as is often the case with the media bubble of blogs, that different sites started reading what one site said and just were reposting the same basic story...creating a situation early on where it seemed he was actually unsuspended. Note again, I first read it at Huffington Post...hardly a "right leaning" source...and they made no mention of it being pretaped episodes at the time.

Problem is, A&E look like massive hypocrites doing this.
 
i'd rather HBO finish the damned deadwood series. cutting it off was lame.

as for reality TV, i can't pretend to care.

I saw a couple episodes over the past few days. That's why I don't see how anyone would want to watch more than a few episodes of it.

Do you really think a station cares about looking Hypocritical? They care about money above anything else.

If this was a publicity stunt, it worked like a champ. The show AND station have had more press now than they probably have had in the entire time the show has ran. Good press, bad press, doesn't make a difference as long as the money keeps flowing.

I wouldn't be the least bit suprised if this was all a stunt.
 
When is Phil Robertson going to speak out about the multi-fiber clothing that the Lord also finds to be an abomination?
