A federal judge ruled Monday that the National Security Agency program which collects information on nearly all telephone calls made to, from or within the United States is likely to be unconstitutional.

U.S. District Court Judge Richard Leon found that the program appears to violate the Fourth Amendment prohibition on unreasonable searches and seizures. He also said the Justice Department had failed to demonstrate that collecting the so-called metadata had helped to head off terrorist attacks

This is the stuff I have been arguing that Obama should be impeached over. Instead, Republicans have focused on birther conspiracy theories and a fake Benghazi story. While the GOP is making themselves irrelevant with their silliness, the Obama administration has been wiping it's ass with the Constitution of the United States of America. Hopefully, this decision is the first step in dismantling a program that the old Soviet Union would have had a wet dream over. A little help on this, Republicans? Please?

Which party holds the presidency today? Look, I play no favorites here. I bashed the bejesus out of Bush when he was spying on Americans, but here's the deal. Bush is no longer in office. Obama should be impeached over what he is doing.

As Bush should have been as well. You remember what SCOTUS judge Sandra Day O'Conner had to say about Bush's illegal wiretapping?

Um, how do you impeach the president for following the law (bill?) that congress wrote and voted for? Is it Obama's fault that he signed and followed that law? Also note that impeachment must not only be charged by the House but have the Senate approve a finding of guilt. So we need the Senate demorats to convict a POTUS demorat - yep, that's going to be easy to do. ;)

The same party that controls the Senate. Hmm...

"If the president does it, it's not illegal" nothing is ever going to happen to any president.

It may be short lived (maybe not) but today is a victory for whistle blowers on government wrong doing.

Easier than impeaching Obama over a fake Benghazi story. At least get the ball rolling. Sure, it will probably fail, but what better way to get Americans to wake up and smell what's happening to the Constitution.

I don't disagree but both sides are to blame. Much of this started on Bush junior.

The judge did stay his ruling because it will undoubtedly be appealed and will almost certainly wind up at the Supreme Court.

many of the same senators and congressmen that voted for the patriot act are still in office. if any of them called for obamas impeachment over the NSA, a indirect consequences of the patroit act, they would be nothing more then political hypocrites.

the only ones who could honestly argue for such a action is a politician who has opposed the patriot act from day one, and has never voted in favor of it.

Patrick Leahy and Tom Daschle, the two men that could have effectively opposed the Patriot Act both got anthraxed!

By very quickly repealing/replacing that federal law. ;)

Shocker...spying on people and stealing their private information is not legal? Who would have ever guessed that?!?!?!?

News for all of you...whether we arrest the whole damn lot, impeach the POTUS and threaten the death penalty on anyone who even looks like they're going to spy on us....they'll still spy on us. Just as sure as death and paying taxes.

The problem is that the one thing that the Obama Admin and Republicans agree on are these NSA programs. It didn't matter who won the last two elections, Hillary, McCain, Obama, Romney etc... these programs were going to be ramped up and instituted regardless. That's the really pathetic thing to me.

Of course it's illegal, of course Obama and the last like 3 Presidents should have been impeached. Will it change? Will we hold our politicians accountable? Likely not.

The Republocrats always agree to expand their own power.
