Ted Cruz Walks Out Of Nelson Mandela Memorial Service In Protest

I don't live in Florida but there are more than a few of the original Cuban refuges living on the Left Coast and they will not evolve, forget or forgive.

My own opinion, I think our embargo on Cuba does more harm than good to the Cuban people. Lifting the sanctions and travel restrictions would probably speed of changes in Cuba.

Maybe it's just me being greedy looking at all of those 1955 and 1956 Chevy's ? I would love buying them dirt cheap and bringing them back and refurbishing them. Since they were all made in America, there's no import duties on them.

Will the Castro regime ever face justice for all of their crimes they committed, the thousands who were murdered ? Probably not.

It's like the sanctions and embargo's on South Africa did speed up ending apartheid in South Africa, but it caused a lot of grief and made things worse for innocent black South Africans in the hundreds of thousands and also for companies in America and Europe in the billions of dollars.

I've never traveled to Cuba, had chances to do so but it was against the law. The State Department was already getting suspicious why I kept reporting that my passport kept being lost. I can't travel around the world with deport stamps in my passport.

But I have a family member and a few friends who unlawfully traveled to Cuba without a Cuban visa being stamped in their passports. The way most Americans did it, you went to Mexico City first and the Cuban Embassy would issue you a visa and if you were an American citizen they wouldn't stamp your passport so you wouldn't get in trouble with your own government.

Do you not think there are enough '55 and '56 Chevys in the US?

Everybody and their mother has one, '57s too.

I don't think any of the Cuban cars are restorable. They have been modified just to keep them running for the past 50 years.

You can find shells of just about any car in the US if you just look. It is also cheaper that transporting them across the water.

What do you think the salty air has done to those '50s cars?

Mandela and Castro being allies goes to show what a piece-a-**** Mandela really was

What does use being allies with Saudi royals show? What does use being allies with Kuwait royals show? What does us being allies with the Shah show? What does us being allies with Batista show? What does us being allies with Pinochet show? What does us being allies with Bahrain show? What does us being allies with Mubarak show?

Are any of those people commies? Of the people you listed, how many of them took American citizens hostage?

Wait so it only matters about the label of what they call themselves? Just forget about the human rights record, right? What matters if they are those "dirty reds!"
Am i correct in this assessment?

Did the US try to invade Cuba? Is the US harboring a man funded by the CIA who blew up a cuban airlane full of citizens?

Did Cuba try to set up NUCLEAR MISSILES? Did Cuba assissinate JFK?

Ask yourself "Why was Cruz there in the 1st place?"...he's not a world leader nor did he know Mandela personally...this was a publicity stunt - nothing more and nothing less.

I'm already sick of hearing about this man in the news and it's not even an election year!!!!!!

I concur.

Not long ago I was watching a Huell Howser special on his visit to Cuba and those old American cars from the 50's have been rebuilt with Russian parts along with duct tape and bailing wire. The only thing original on them is the chassie and body.

Those friends that I know who did travel to Cuba back during the 1990's did say many of those old cars were still refurbishable. Probably not today. But they still probably are good for parts.

I have a friend who is an Aussie who smuggles Corvettes into Australia. It's just too expensive with the Australian import tariffs to legally import a corvette into Austrailia.

A Cuban-American walking out on a Castro speech. No kidding.

This is so not an issue. Cuban-Americans despise that name. Walk into Miami and shout "Viva Castro!" and see if you don't get your ass shot.

I want to see if Maxine Waters would sit there and listen to a Klansman making a speech.

I think Ted Cruz needs to take a little history before making an idiotic gesture/statement. I dont think he remembers how Mandela and Castro are allies...

If I was a Cuban American I probably would walk out too. I don't blame him one bit. I don't see a big whoppie do about the president shaking hands with Castro and I do not see it as a big whoppie do about Cruz walking out. I think those who try to turn either one or both into big things really need to get a life. I can understand the reasons for and why each would do wha they did. Neither is a problem to me.,

This is one more example of you being far too reasonable and playing to both sides..
Careful, there is a downstairs and you're not immune..
I noticed you've been visiting down there, but be sure not to speak of specifics up here--you know, the Vegas rule..

And if Cruz did not go, the media left and Democrats would be raging:

TED CRUZ BOYCOTTS MANDELA MEMORIAL

Actually, I think most people are wondering why we sent a "Congressional Delegation" in the first place. They don't represent America on the world stage.

To me what each did was common sense. But I am not a diehard left or right, but there are issues I believe in and issues I don't. As to threads which is basement and which is upstairs, I just pick topics I think interest me and where they are is irrelevant. I hadn't noticed I was in the basement until I start to give a like and the like button ain't there.

Perhaps I should start to pay more attention, but what I say if I can't say it everywhere I don't say it. At least that is what I try to type by.

There's a way to do it but I haven't figured it out yet..
Bob Blaylock knows cuz he did it to me..

You can add states like Texas to your blog if they have close TEA-party primaries..
I like John Cornyn's ad last time, to "Big Bad John" music..
I'd love to see one of the Castro brothers take out that ****in Stockman and jolt Cruz.

I was reading an article Larry Sabato wrote about Stockman and his challenge. He doesn't think Stockman is a serious threat. For the time being I will go along with him until I find out different.

Who said they were allies? Yeah, Castro went to the memorial....so did GW Bush and Ted Cruz.

I like the basement, because they have good topics. I've wondered why you can't give a "like" there, too.. Also, The funny pictures site is enough to keep me laughing all day!

Michigan GOP legislature has passed a law that makes women buy "rape insurance"..
Insurance plan can't cover abortion if you're raped..
No insurance plans currently exist for "rape insurance"..This has been done in 6 states,,
Citizens petition law--from 4 % of public--got thisw law on the books over a governor's veto--
160,000 signatures in 90 days are now needed to put it on the ballot and get rid of the "rape insurance" law..

Kudos to Chris Hayes MSNBC..

The GOP can forget turning the Senate in Michigan..
All I can do is cheer on these moon-bats so "My Team" keeps the Senate .

I think their relationship goes back to castro's history as a supporter of anti-capitalist revolutionaries and his involvement in places like Angola. Hard to really judge negatively given the context and the fact that foreign relations is often built on necessity and makes for strange bed fellows (just look at Ghadaffi's history for similar reasons). But his relationship with the Castro regime definitely goes deeper than Raul just happening to show at his funeral

Republican Land has taken a 2 point lead over Peters in Michigan. But I don't expect the Republican to win. But it is close enough at this point in time to be on my list. I also added Colorado since Udall lead has dropped from 16 to 4 points over Buck. But like Michigan, I don't expect Colorado to change hands, I'll just be keeping an eye on these states.

All Dems need to do is plaster Ted Cruz's greatest hits all over the face of said candidate..
And ask the question, do you want Cruz being a Committee Chair and in the ****ing Majority..Really??
Even Rubio and Paul are against the House's bill which got 332 ****ing votes..
