John Boehner On 113th Congress Being Least Productive Ever: 'We've Done Our Work'

Of all the coalitions in D.C., the trade deals that saw DeMint support free trade and L. Graham support his own textiles told me the difference..
Obama supports Elite Repubs and the international banks with this deal..
I don't either. Clinton wanted NAFTA and the WTO too. I could never figure that out.
This story in Detroit with public pensions is unfolding..
You'll see riots even in bitter cold--you watch..
This is a big ****ing deal and is the tip of the iceberg .

The 1 Dec update number 4 has been posted. Personally I think January and February are the months to watch. Then the primaries, once names are placed next to an office, that changes the dynamics. I have been watching CNN a lot more lately than FOX. I never liked MSNBC outside of Mathews and when he went south so to speak I stopped watching him. Now I like to catch THE FIVE on FOX, but that is for Bob Beckel. a Carter holdover but one who knows politics inside and out. I also hopes Nate Silver comes back on line before the election next year. He promised he would, but he will be with ESPN instead of the NYT.

i suggest watching ezra klien or Lawrence O'Donnell. I know lawrence talks too smugly, i appreciate his perspective because he was a former senate staffer.

As you point out with ESPN and Silver, methinks E$$PN could be the next FOX in the news business..

At this point, Ed is back to rallying the troops..
Chris gets all of the top guests as their #1 anchor..
Rev. Al has his base and Obama's back..
I like calling the GOPers out for nullification--the truth..
IMHO, the trashing of Obama on FOX with GOP Congresspeople is far past the standard used for Sedition during President Adams..

Lawrence is very good on economics..I have learned from him .

The judge approving that Detroit can declare bankruptcy you mean. I watch a little report on that while I ate supper. I agree, it is a big deal.

The judge agreed with those who DID NOT want the bankrupcy on multiple items but had to go with the law..

Michigan passed what may be the worst of all the "post--2010 GOP laws"--
giving the Governor power to appoint a czar/city manager--not elected--if certain economic factors are reached..

The judge agreed the Governor hastened the bankrupcy of Detroit through budgeting gimmicks..
It will all come out in the wash..

And public pensioneers like you will go all the way down to 18% of pensions, 18% of less than $20,000 .

Thanks for the reminder to check your blog! I did, and as usual, it's very informative. Thanks once again for doing all the hard work for us, Pero. ...it's appreciated!

I did some checking, O'Donnell doesn't come on until 10PM my time. That is usually around the time I start to wrap things up on the computer and the wife tells me it is time to do the last couple of honey do's and get ready for bed. But I will flip him on, at least in the background.

Never thought of that. Nate had post last July that in his new job will be forecasting games along with his political analysis.

I don't know any of the particulars, just heard the judge had approved it.

Greetings, NIMBY. :2wave:

Why would the people riot, in your opinion? Their lives should improve overall, and even a small thing like turning the street lights back on will help. What am I missing here?

Any time Pol, stay tuned as one never knows what will happen come 1 January and update number 5.

Great comment by Chuck Todd on Chris Matthews about Kingston sounding normal on PPACA..
Jack then got pounded on his rightist wing and called a RINO, showing how hard it is to get anything done..
As we talked earlier, Congress needs a gag rule when they are in session or nothing will happen .

I know, but I am apprehensive about what plans the GOP may have. I hope they've learned...

That would be nice. Kingston represents the Augusta area.

then try chris hays, he is in the time slot between chris Matthew's and Rachel maddow.

I doubt it, I highly doubt it. 4 things to look for in the coming year. 1. January CR expires and the government needs to be funded for the rest of the FY. 2. February's Debt Ceiling debate. 3. How many Tea Party Candidates will try to primary out what would be Republican winning candidates in the general election much like Mourdock vs. Lugar. 4. The FY 2015 budget due on 1 Oct 2014.

All are potential pitfalls for the GOP that I am sure they fall into at least a couple of these. I am not sure the GOP learned anything from the last shut down as they are now going all over the place saying, "See, we were right." Well, they may have been or not, but not is not the way one learns from mistakes.

I may not have explained it perfectly..
If you're a retired policeman at $40,000 a year pension, you may go as low as $8,000 a year--
Only 18% of your previous public pension..I think I'd be rioting..
This is the tip of the iceberg Polgara for states and municipalities that are billions in debt..
Really sickening is to watch million-dollar accountants come in to "fix" the pension by stealing it .

My concern with the GOP that hits homes for you is that the Post Office pension scenario has not been cleared up..
I'm wondering where your grown child is on that one these days .

It isn't the first city to go bankrupt, and it probably won't be the last. Sad... Too many promises made that aren't going to be kept because there is not enough money to do so. What do you think our lives are going to be like in the future, with a national debt of $17 trillion dollars currently, and still climbing?

I don't understand your question...sorry. Is it an analogy about things in general, because no one in my family works for the Post Office...

my bad memory

Being close to Cleveland as you are, I expect the Detroit talk to be all over your AM radio tomorrow..
This is a really BFD that will be exploding in a neighborhood near everyone in this country..
I can't imagine being those public policemen, firemen, teachers, and all the rest..

You probably don't watch him, but Chris Hayes will have a Goldman Sachs guy up next explaining how
he feels Wall street is screwing Detroit..

um, this is from the epa's link you provided.

and i all i can find is progress reports and action plans, i don't see anything that indicates that the EPAS intent is motivated by malice.

So exactly what do you think the end result will be with a program called Environmental Justice? If the EPA has no intent to carry through with regulations as a result of it's reports and action plans, why would they be making the effort?

A careful analysis of their plan illustrates very clearly what they plan to do, while their initial "offensive" on the subject is only packaged as studies and analysis.

Don't be fooled. When the EPA determines areas of the country are subjected to "environmental injustice", they will be taking action, and it will be through the unilateral sledgehammer only the EPA can swing.
