No Animals Were Harmed

It may be possible to have some small affect.

When we found out a horse was killed during the filming of Flicka (with Tim McGraw), my friends and I chose not to see it. And when Luck on HBO was discovered to have had 2 or 3 horses die on set (not even in racing scenes) I called and complained and I cancelled HBO and let them know why. And the series was cancelled due to the bad publicity.

The put statements on the end of movies to assure people that animals weren't hurt or killed. The meat industry doesn't make such claims.
The meat industry makes all sorts of claims about the health and treatment of the animals before slaughter. They do everything they can, for example, to claim that beef is healthy -- including covering up instances of abuse, and lobbying elected officials to modify regulations.

In fact, the meat industry has pushed to pass gag laws on journalists and activists who covertly film livestock farms (http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/07/us/taping-of-farm-cruelty-is-becoming-the-crime.html?_r=0).

Again, we're talking about different situations, with no causal connection between the two. The way Hollywood treats its animals has no direct connection or influence on how farms manage livestock, or vice versa. And as noted, some animal activists have criticized Hollywood's treatment of animals.

If you're upset at the AHA falling down on the job, then the ones to criticize are the AHA and the studios and producers who are co-opting them; and the goal should be to fix the problem, not using this as yet another partisan talking point.
