White House, Lawmakers Rejecting Edward Snowden's Plea For Clemency

Whatever happened to his plan to hang out in Venezuela or Ecuador?

He cant get there because he would have to fly through US ally airspace and they would most likely make them ground the plane.

Right! Like Jews and Nazi Germany.

What kind of a holocaust-trivializing anti-Semite thinks that the NSA spying scandal is anything like Nazi Germany??

Apparently you vote to keep the gov't up your nose. I do not. The NSA spying on USA citizens is tyrannical, just like Nazi Germany. I didn''t realize you are a holocaust trivializer. You have my deep, deep sympathies. Dr. Feelgood, he got a pill for that. Probably even better than a GPS tracking device up your nose, or perhaps it is the device, heah!

It endanger American operators who collected that onformation [sic]. Our intelligence agents, they're Americans, too.

If public servants are “endangered” a a result of illegally spying on the American people, and violating our Constitution, then this is a good thing. Government agents who turn against the very people they are supposed to be serving should be in fear of the well-deserved consequences that such activity may bring upon them.

He'll come back to stand trial. He can't hid behind Putin's apronstrings forever.

He will be released from Russia once Putin assesses he can no longer use him to make trouble for the U.S.

Time to take him out

I have no idea how this would be legal, but actually, the people who should take him out is Booz Allen. Now that would be Customer Service.

Agreed. And now that there has been some friction caused between the US and the EU, it's a safe bet that Putin's had his fun with Snowden. We can expect to see him standing trial here not long after his year in Russia is up.

No, this is absolutely nothing like Nazi Germany. The spying was not the bad part about what the Nazis did. What the Nazis did was commit a genocide. It would have been no less horrific if there hadn't been any spying involved whatsoever.

If somebody thinks the worst thing the Nazis did was spying, that person is nothing more than a despicable holocaust trivializer.

Aren't the Russians racists for not allowing open borders?

We killed lots of Iraqis. We killed lots of Libyans. We killed lots of Yemenis. We killed lots of Afghanis. But we're not Nazis???? Under false pretenses. Very profitable Corporate agenda killing. We got nice quiet, sneaky, deadly drones that do not think for themselves, but need an operator. Who runs NSA? Maybe CIA? Who runs drone program? Maybe CIA? Who's behind those wars in Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc? Perhaps CIA? Who ran the GW Bush, the first moron, torture program? Maybe CIA? Do you notice the smell of continuity or is that fish or your socks? Yeh, you must be right, this spying is just harmless trivialization.

If that's all he'd done, I would probably agree with you, but there's no telling what kind of sensitive information he's prepated to release.

Wait, there's no telling what information was released but at the same time you're saying he's endangered American lives. Surely even you can see how your wires are crossed and you're just trying to justify your hate.

Oh, I'm a hater, now?

Snowden stole classified materials ang gave those mayerials to a foreign government. Thats treason.

Do you think Russia would let him out?

He might know some secrets from over there to tell the US.

The fact that Snowden is asking for clemency tells me that things are not going well in Russia for him.

There was a time when our country and its press valued the truth. There was a time when it was embarrassing to be caught in an expose or a scandal. Now our government breaks its own laws and spies on its own people, and when exposed the public will attack the person who blew the cover.

Back in the day, this would be called investigative journalism. Now it's called treason.

I hope Snowden is never caught. He's a patriot and a symbol of one of the only sources of truth we have left in this polity.

[h=5]He's probably never gonna come back to the US again. Better figure something out cuz i believe his "amnesty" in Russia is over this summer i believe. Maybe a EU country will accept him with the latest revelations?[/h]

Doubt it. Russia told him to stop as a condition of his amnesty. He promised he would. Low and behold he's still doing it. He's still handing out documents with anyone who asks. He had a hard time finding amnesty in Russia after everyone rejected him...I doubt after burning the "russian bridge" that he had anyone else will roll the dice on him. He's only left with the option of third world nations and those ruled by dictators such as Ecuador, Venezuela, etc. The ones he outright dismissed before...and who knows that snub might come back to haunt him too. I think eventually he'll have to come back to the US to stand for his crimes and serve them as he should.

You honestly think anybody is going to tell Snowden a secret ever again?

Objectively he has. Multiple AQ affiliates have now altered they way they communicate based off of the Snowden revelations, removing our ability to track their movements and planning efforts, and enabling them in launching attacks. You can say that increased American casualties are the price you are willing to pay for an IC that asks everyone nicely rather than spies on them for their information, but don't pretend that there is no trade-off.

He's not a friggin patriot, he's a self-absorbed loser. Back in the day? Back in the day we executed people for this crap.

And just last night for Cuccinelli, Ron Paul came very close to supporting what Snowden did, along with all of the parts of his rant..Get rid of the fed, the 17th, 16th, clamp down on the 4th, state's rights completely, guns are for more than hunting, etc.
