WASHINGTON -- WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House and the leaders of the intelligence committee in Congress are rejecting National Security Agency-contractor Edward Snowden's plea for clemency."Mr. Snowden violated U.S. law," White House adviser Dan Pfeiffer said about the former systems-analyst-turned-fugitive who has temporary asylum in Russia.
"He should return to the U.S. and face justice," Pfeiffer said, adding when pressed that no offers for clemency were being discussed.
Snowden made the plea in a letter given to a German politician and released Friday. In his one-page typed letter, he asks for clemency for charges over allegedly leaking classified information about the NSA to the news media. "''Speaking the truth is not a crime," Snowden wrote.

[h=5]He's probably never gonna come back to the US again. Better figure something out cuz i believe his "amnesty" in Russia is over this summer i believe. Maybe a EU country will accept him with the latest revelations?[/h]

Time to take him out.

Time to take him out.

Yea... Taking someone out who tells the truth and exposed embarrassing and most likely illegal thing our country does. Do you not like the truth? Is telling the truth now a punishable by death offense?

It is in this case.

:wow:
Exposing illegal and unnecessary acts? Embarrassing our leaders?

My preference would have been that Snowden exposed this to the oversight committee and not the UK paper. Unfortunately it's getting to the part were it's causing great harm.

Yes because the oversight committee will really do something about this..
"We tried to stay for the better part of seven years inside the government trying to get the government to recognize the unconstitutional, illegal activity that they were doing and openly admit that and devise certain ways that would be constitutionally and legally acceptable to achieve the ends they were really after. And that just failed totally because no one in Congress or — we couldn't get anybody in the courts, and certainly the Department of Justice and inspector general's office didn't pay any attention to it. And all of the efforts we made just produced no change whatsoever. All it did was continue to get worse and expand." 3 NSA veterans speak out on whistle-blower: We told you so

He's a trader. He endangered American lives. He needs to die.

Really? He did? Please explain how... (I'm guessing you cannot).

Exposing intelligence collection to foreign countries endangers American lives. It's not rocket science.

Exposing that we hacked, tapped allies phones and other services, that we hack our own citizens phones and collect data on them, endangers Americans? How so? Is Germany going to invade us? Is Brazil going to attack us?

You spy on your friends because they won't always be your friends.

So it endangers people who sit at a computer at NSA's computers? You have yet to offered a shred of evidence, all personal speculations. Reminds me of when Wikileaks dumped their documents, we heard the exact some cries but what do you know the Pentagon even admitted it didnt harm a single Americans life.

Clemency? He wants clemency?

This country will send you to prison for 25 years to life if you sell me an ounce of mushrooms. This country is the last civilized country with a death penalty. This country has robot planes that will kill you without a trial. This country PROUDLY spies on all of us. And you are asking them for clemency?

Must be the mushrooms.

You're admitting that at least a gew American agents could be endangered by Snowden's treason.

Whatever happened to his plan to hang out in Venezuela or Ecuador?

How so? Because we have spies and secret agents? Well know they cant do that **** anymore now can they? Cant spy on our own allies. Good.
