Mother Jones Shocker: 'New Poll Shows Democratic Incumbents in Big Trouble'

I'm not sure the difference between Obama and Romney. Obama's privatized health care initiative is nearly identical to Romney's done in MA. Is it not market friendly enough as in we need less oversight on the insurance industry??? I'm trying to figure out what people are expecting.

No, the non working scum that sit at home bearing babies and drinking beer all day. Get off the high horse about the sick and elderly.

Well if we're gonna go by that parameter, the 47% statistic is way off. And even some.of those people vote Republican religiously.

It is funny how Obama is in BIG trouble with mid 40s rating, but the GOP is doing just fine according to the GOP with sub 10% ratings.. Even Al Q is more popular in some areas than the GOP!

:lamoFantasy is fun, huh? OK, I'll counter with Democrats approval being 20% less than 0%, they are less popular than bedbugs.

It's your turn to make up something even worse about Republicans.

Incumbent approval EVERYWHERE is down. And then when people get into the voting booths ... they vote for the same old, same old.

Congress Dives, Anti-Incumbency Soars in Deep Post-Shutdown Criticism - ABC News

Cruz's antics during the shutdown are every bit as damaging to the GOP. Don't kid yourself, Zimmer. The ABC article says GOP incumbent approval is down; it doesn't mention that GOP incumbent approval was much lower to begin with. Selective reading of polling data isn't good for you.

Democrats' net disapproval in that poll was 61 percent; Republicans was 77.

People hate politicians and hate Congress - except their own representatives. It's always been that way.

President Christie will be inaugurated on 20 January 2017.:peace

The reason the Democrats and media so praise Christie is because he is in fact a government Nanny state, always tax more Democrat. His state has one of the highest state income taxes in the county and he believes the government should take care of and control aspect of everyone's life. Otherwise, Christie believes in only one thing - himself - and he will do 180s whenever it suits him.

His expertise is in backstabbing for personal gain. After giving Romney's nomination speech, he soon went on to boycott all Romney rallies to instead give raving praises of Obama and to curse all Republicans - as in 100% - in Congress. If Christie were to be the Republican nominee there would be no reason for a November election as the Democrats already won.

Thank you for your input. I take it Governor Christie has little chance of gaining your vote.:peace

Howdy Jack, Governor Christie is the only Republican at this time that stands a chance of defeating whom ever the Democrats nominate in 2016. The big reason is the Democrats huge advantage when it comes to the electoral college map. But time will tell, there will be many unforeseen events and issues rise between now and then.

Greetings Pero. :2wave:

With the agreed caveat that it's still early, I share your view. If Repubs want to win then they will nominate Christie. If they would instead rather make some point besides winning then they will nominate a kamikaze.

Exactly my way of thinking.

It doesn't matter. It was a bad idea to them because it was Obama....the fact that the guy they wanted to elect in 2012 is the architect of the thing is of no consequence.

Romney was going to abolish Romneycare....:lamo

RINO is a term I don't use, and I certainly would not apply it to Christie. :peace

Well maybe not you personally, but there are many who are upset that he didn't kick Obama in the nads during the whole Sandy thing. Some of them blame him for winning the election for Obama (that's a real stretch I think, but....).

Then take it up with those "many.":peace

You're probably right. All things Obama are bad;)

Part of me thinks some actually want to deregulate the insurance company because they have been conditioned to believe that is a good thing. I think that is the only thing that is different from Obama's plan vs what the Republicans have been pushing.

Not that it is all that important but the 47% defined the percentage of the populace who will vote for the socialist no matter what. Some retired military may vote for the socialists but not that many.

And about half of us receive direct cash payments from the government. There is quite a bit of overlap given the roughly fifty welfare programs.

True. Christy is a Status Quo Republican Liberal. He is a SQRL. Rhinos are magnificent beasts. Christie is horrible beast.

You are certainly entitled to your view. I think your style of politics wins races for the Dems. The Senate has a Dem majority because of voters like you. That's OK if that's what you want, but I don't think it is. Christie can win, and he'd made a good POTUS in my view.:peace

Do you think putting K's in the place of C's somehow adds to... well, any part of any conversation ever?

It's cute when an eight year old girl puts it on the sign for her lemonade stand, but you're allegedly an adult.

Look Deuke, we know it works.

It's rather ironic, given that Theodore Roosevelt, Taft, and La Follette first started using the idea behind the term. In a way, all Tea Partiers and their sympathizers would be RINOs, by being less than progressive in ideology. It's a silly mechanism, but it's still humorous that Republicans do it.

Interesting take. Dems have their equivalent. I recall Howard Dean proclaiming himself leader of "the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party.":peace

I agree Jack, hope all is well. The thing about Christie is he is very attractive to the independent voters which is a must for Republicans. Now whether they know that or not, is another thing. Independents have a 44% favorable view of him vs. 22% unfavorable. That is a great start in the General election, but the question is, Can he win in the primaries, win the nomination?

We shall see. I hope the cameras are rolling the first time he's confronted by a heckler in Iowa.:peace
