Exactly. So the republicans want the democrats to compromise, or do nothing. Either of those is better than giving the democrats everything they want.

which doesn't answer the charge that they voted yes to allow the measure to be voted on and THEN voted NO to stop the measure--now there is no filibuster unless the Senate goes to conference, which the House refused to do 18 times--and Dems accepted your budget sequester #

They also don't want Obamacare. How are republicans supposed to get that point across to the democrats after they refused to listen to them more than 40+ times with repeal efforts and the passing of the law in the first place?

I don't worry about other poster's actions, but you are misleading when you post 25 Repub Senators were in favor of a clean CR. Just face facts...

The people don't want to be forced to buy health insurance either.

FYI, democrats shut down the government 8 times during the Reagan administration. It's how our government is supposed to work.

Yes. And it's ok for the democrats to do it now. Just know that it takes two uncompromising parties to have a stalemate in any negotiation.

I don't know. Maybe they thought they'd be negotiating and making compromises with the repubs in the house-senate conference committee. But apparently, Boehner had other ideas.

There were no dire consequences to refusing to conference then, there are now. Its how divided government works, negotiations occur when stakes are high. Not sure why so many don't get this concept.

Is it ok with you that the feds borrow approximately $0.40 of every dollar they spend? My question has nothing to do with the ACA.
 
And you are misleading posters when you say that I am misleading posters that 25 Repub Senators were in favor of a clean CR. I have clearly stated that 25 Repub Senators voted Yes to allow the clean CR to be voted on, and then they voted NO. I will not allow you to spin this any other way.

Well considering not one Republican was crying about Regan, Bush 1, Bush 2 spending everything they could get their hands on. Bush 2 was handed a surplus and wasted it. I have a problem with it for 30 years now. However to hear a Republican cry about it is funny because they are some of the biggest spender we have ever seen. Tell me one Republican President that has lowered the deficit since 1981.
