A very brave thing to do with just a handgun.

A former marine emerged as a hero of the Nairobi siege yesterday after he was credited with saving up to 100 lives.
The ex soldier was having coffee at the Westgate mall when it was attacked by Islamists on Saturday.
With a gun tucked into his waistband, he was pictured helping two women from the complex.

You mean an armed person HELPED in a violent situation and saved lives?
Naw, no way. Must be a misprint.

Hey, Obama says we can arm the terrorists but American citizens can't be trusted with guns. Hey Crue, did you see the guy that put pro second amendment signs in his yard and they kept getting stolen so he put up a hidden game camera and it turned out to be a uniformed cop?!?

Not to be a stickler for facts or anything but Obama never said that, also the fact that he was armed didn't really contribute to what he accomplished. He's a great man and a hero for it, but lets leave out the hyperbole OK?

The article mentions the hand gun. And I bet, while probably a brave and helpful fellow, did more than usual because he had a weapon and was trained with it.
Its just luck that he didnt have to use it.
But the agenda drum beat is "more guns" is a terrible thing. Yet more guns in the right hands seem to help out.

I doubt this one will be on US television. It wasn't last night.

Politically Incorrect to point out that the Armed Citizen can bring justice from time to time.

To clarify, Obama is pushing for (once again) more 2nd amendment restrictions on americans and simultaneously arming terrorists in the ME. As for the other statement, neither one of us know if he would have done what he did had he not had some protection.

Tsk. Who does he think he is, interfering in the local affairs of Kenya?

Armed westerners who try to save lives by opposing abusive internal groups are wrong, remember?

Daggum imperialists.

Re: British hero of the mall massacre: Ex Royal Marine with a handgun saved 100 lives

Apparently he had accomplices.

A FORMER Irish Army ranger helped save hundreds of terrified shoppers who were trapped inside the Westgate mall as it came under terrorist attack at the weekend.

The hero, who does not want his identity to be revealed, was part of a group of four who fought off some of the al Qa'ida linked attackers to rescue the terrified shoppers.

A close friend revealed last night that the ex-soldier was about to leave the mall when the attack began and he ran back inside with a former British soldier.

They were provided with guns by two Asian men and the four ran into an underground car park where they found over 200 shoppers and staff hiding behind parked trucks.
