Communications Chair of Sacramento County Dems Wishes Death on Cruz Speech... [W:81]

Re: Dems keep it classy

In other words, you're not going to look. And since one jackass who is the Communications Chair of Sacramento County Dems (in other words, a complete nobody) tweeted something terrible, that is incontrovertible evidence that Democrats are Awful People who are Always Worse Than Republicans, forever and ever.

Ted Nugent, a Republican who has a much higher profile than the CC, has said just as bad or worse. There.

I looked and saw nothing, If you have anything at all about Republicans or Republican commentators wishing people dead, or accusing others of wanting people dead, let's see it. If this is all you have then its nada.

Not a single person here has defended him. That said, he's the communications chair of the Sacramento County Democrats. WHO CARES. This guy is an absolute nobody, and people here are holding him up as prima facie evidence that Democrats are somehow worse than Republicans when it comes to awful rhetoric.

Not my fault people ignored the topic, which was indeed what the communications chair of the Sac County Dems said. Who cares? I care, because it was a completely unacceptable thing for anyone to have said.

Not my fault that partisans on both sides either ducked the issue by not criticizing his terrible words, pretended that the "other side does it too", or decided to paint an entire political party with the potty mouth of a single man.

I don't play the partisan game. I call it as I see it, and am on record as calling out proponents of both parties when they lie, mislead, fabricate or state unsourced gossip as fact. This particular guy was a douchebag, so that's what I called him.

He was the Communications Director and not quite a nobody. But in any case the precedents had been set by other Democrats and their supporters.

There was a Nugent quote above regarding Obama "sucking on his machine gun."

Coulter: "When contemplating college liberals, you really regret once again that John Walker is not getting the death penalty. We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed, too. Otherwise, they will turn out to be outright traitors."

"My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times building."

Vester: You say you'd rather not talk to liberals at all?
Coulter: I think a baseball bat is the most effective way these days.

We need somebody to put rat poisoning in Justice Stevens's creme brulee. That's just a joke, for you in the media. (ha ha, Ann)

Of course it was unacceptable; however, in the greater scheme of things, this guy has zero national profile. It's a non-story.

Eh, I live fairly close to Sacramento so I was interested. For most people it was indeed a "non-story"... but amazingly, look how many folks had to jump in with their personal comments in a "non-story" thread anyway. Such is life on a political forum.

Well of course, you can pretty much set your watch by that.

The implication (or flat-out claim) by some here is that awful rhetoric is the exclusive province of "the left," which is asinine.

The Dem/GOP dichotomy is basically Team Red vs. Team Blue, where people will constantly claim the other "side" is somehow "worse" behaviorally. It's not true, it's unnecessarily divisive, and it accomplishes bupkus.

Those are better quotes from Ann Coulter this time and they should be condemned. But the criticism has to be consistent from everyone in order to stop this sort of craziness.

We agree. Thing is almost nobody who entered this thread actually wanted to discuss the actual topic of the thread, and derailed it to suit themselves. The result is a quagmire flamefest complete with Mod Warning and most probably a few slapped wrists! I did respond to the actual topic of the thread, and was surprised when you set upon me!

I'm not annoyed or anything, because I actually do like you and think you're a good poster. However, you didn't respond to what I said; you responded to what everyone else had said. That is how miscommunications happen... although not in this case, because I'm awesomely cool and understanding. Also, I don't have a horse in this race!

I hope you don't think I was "setting upon" you; just clarifying that yes, while people were sidestepping and generally turning this into so much partisan fodder, nobody was actually defending this guy and, in the greater scheme of things, this guy isn't exactly a heavy hitter.

Please reread the second paragraph in my post that you quoted. With that, I bid you good night!

The truth is, no one is above it. The truth.....like I said what is the point? I do not mean that in a derisive or sarcastic way it is a real question. What do we do with that information?

Sounded like some kind of drug induced gobbledegook. Incomprehensible. Wanna try again? This time strive for clarity.

Re: Dems keep it classy

I can see where trfjr is coming from. One dumb Republican chump uses a phrase like "legitimate rape" and it's a shiit-storm across every newspaper front page from coast to coast. A few Republicans have some polarizing views on reproductive rights, and suddenly all Republicans are "anti-female".

All people tend to paint with a pretty broad brush, but can you deny that the Democrats have been doing it much more often and vehemently as of late? Liberals have become the undisputed kings of assumption these days.

After all, Republicans are holding the country hostage...

Re: Dems keep it classy

I question whether or not the citizens want it gone. For one thing there has been a very focused effort to confuse people about it and scare people about it. So even if that is accurate, most people don't want it, how do we assure ourselves that we are actually following an informed consensus?

Do you think that question should have been asked prior to the passage of the bill?

Re: Dems keep it classy

so calling people who are liberal weak-minded and comparing them to followers of jim jones "classy"

Yeah, but wishing they would all drink cyanide-laced Kool-Aid would be comparable to what Mr. Brauer said.

Re: Dems keep it classy

well there are the ultrasounds.

If you're talking about an invasive ultrasound, I think you have a fair point. I've heard that's been proposed, but don't know by whom. Can you supply a reference?

Re: Communications Chair of Sacramento County Dems Wishes Death on Cruz Speechwriter’

"Dems"? It's one guy. One seriously twisted guy, but one guy.

In fairness, they did run him off.

Re: Dems keep it classy

Here is the point I was trying to make. Not to be rude. But, seriously...what is the point of discovering who is the worst? What do we do once we uncover solid proof that is one side or the other?

So you're willing to make fun of Sarah Palin for the absurdity of pointing out the "death panel" in Obamacare, and then when someone shows it to you, you simply move along to the next point without comment. Bad form.

Re: Dems keep it classy

If it were limited to an overemotional cry-fest limited to the threat of taking them away you might have a point, but try to do so much as limit the availability of 100round clips and they wet themselves. And not in a good way.

Here's how I view it - if you murder someone with an illegal gun, you should go to jail for the rest of your life. If you murder someone with a legal gun, you should go to jail for the rest of your life.

If you murder someone with a fully automatic street-sweeper, you should go to jail for the rest of your life. If you murder someone with a deer rifle, you should go to jail for the rest of your life.

Bottom line - punish the crime, not the tool. The only difference between killing someone in cold blood by a gun and by your bare hands is opportunity. The crime is exactly the same otherwise.

I hear you and don't disagree with the fact that regardless of how you do it the victim is still dead and dead is the same no matter how you got there.

However,

1)it is much easier to kill someone with a gun: victim has less of a chance of getting away, more likely to happen in the heat of the moment because a gun was accessible, more likely to end up dead (wound more lethal) ...

2)you can kill them from a distance: it detaches you from the reality of what you are doing

The first thing we need to do to address mass killings is change how we treat mental illness in this country. (I think everyone can agree with that) Men especially are ashamed to get the help they need and it is a waste of life not only for the victims if he loses it, but for him (because its always some crazy dude). Some people need to have their rights infringed on because they are not competent enough to handle them (especially that one) in a way that does not endanger others. The question is how do you weed them out?

There are already many factors that can exclude you from firearm ownership. Ex-convict/felony status, documented mental impairment, etc. all disallow someone to legally own a firearm.

Re: Dems keep it classy

its time republicans take the gloves off and stop playing the gentleman sport of politics they have been trying to play for years. it is time to go bare fisted and start fighting just like the left if they expect to win anything. you cant fight a fair fight and win if your opponent refuses to do the same

More CONfusion on the radical right... the gloves came off with those Willie Horton ads back when BushI ran for president.

Seems to me the communications director is a far cry from someone running for Congress or a recovering drug addict going on national radio to call a college co-ed- slut, demanding to tape her sexual activity because she wants her Insurance Company to put birth control in the coverage.

Problem with the CON game is they try and make every bad act equal, and ignore their over the top buffoons all the while declaring the 'gloves need to come off' when going dirty- (anyone who has actually done any work that gets your hands dirty knows you put gloves ON)

I know, right. I find the notion that the Republicans are somehow "playing nice" and have been the whole time to be utterly laughable. That is, quite literally, one of the stupidest things I've ever read.
