Boehner: Obama should negotiate on debt, but not with me

When I was "poor", I certainly didn't decide to have children. Life circumstances don't make your choices, you do...

some people try to have children regaurdless of economic status.

life does make choices for you, where you are born, what body you are given.

people can follow their own path in life, but only as far as circumstances allows.

these people cannot qualify for medicaid but cannot afford private coverage. did you expect the family to know this at the time when they decided to have a child? do you expect them to plan it all out methodically? when people are living in the moment they only are focused on what is currently at hand.

It's all about dependency... creating future generations of dependent voters.

Productivity in the country continues to rise, but that only measures those that are working. If we included the universe of available labor, we would be in the crapper...

Because usually speaking when parents can't afford something for their children they will commonly go without. If you have a problem with this then go buy them insurance. Just leave me the hell out of your moral crusade.

currently the government is doing so with the chip program.

Yes, because there are stupid individuals in the country, and you can't fix stupid. You can choose not to indulge them though...

maybe the decision is based on emotion, not rationality. humans are not like machines, we may be logical but sometimes ones logic is overruled by ones emotion's.

Government should not be based on emotion. It should be based on activities that benefit society as a whole, not individually...

and why is getting rid of a government program that helps people who cannot afford private insurance but don't qualify for medicaid beneficial for society?

I would prefer we end Medicaid as well...

its not about being liberal. its about being human and being capable of being empathetic to people who are not blessed by fortune.

So is taxing people to fund these programs being empathetic to people?

Is forcing people to buy insurance being empathetic to people?

Is forcing insurance companies to cover whatever you want being empathetic to people?

Should I go on?

The President is dishonest and can't be trusted - why would Boehner agree to negotiate with him? It's that simple.

Because he doesn't really have a choice. Whether or not he likes it, Obama is President until 2017.

So Boehner can work with that for the good of the country, or he can play silly political theatre. I think we all know what he'll choose, which is very sad.

Yes, Bush cut everything to the bone :lamo Remember "Compassionate Conservative?"

Obamacare is really compassionate. You know, with all the forced commerce it involves. Oh right, forcing people to do what they don't desire to do is compassionate now. :lamo

Democrats need to plaster the face of Cruz all over the faces of Repub candidates for Senate in 2014.
And the Fifty-some Repubs in competitive House Seats.
With just one word. REALLY?

Nice try at a strawman. Must defend Bush....must defend Bush...

"Compassionate Conservative" was Bush's way of saying, "I ain't gonna cut **** either," but you all still think he believed in small government.

Yeah, the republicans ask for something the majority of the country is for to some degree, but the democrats gain the high ground by denying them. Sure..

I wasn't defending Bush.

if the federal government has to shut down, all 50 states have to shut down their government.

There are times when I just wish I could yell out "Kook Alert! Kook Alert!"

But I know that I cannot.

how does anarchy sound?
Compared to the growing tyranny I think a little anarchy sounds refreshing.

Good evening, AP. :2wave:

You mean the way the Founders probably intended when they wrote the Constitution? Novel idea....

the house republicans pass bills that are only in line with their conservative philosophy: gut epa regulations, gut financial regulations, create oil pipe lines that create only a small amount of jobs and have the potential of becoming ecological nightmares, nearly every bill they have passed has had something to do with limiting or cutting the effectiveness of federal programs. and what are they offering to give the democrats in exchange for passing their legislation? what things are conservitives are willing to give to liberals in exchange for passing legislation?
I like all of those things. They do not go far enough. The EPA needs to be eliminated. Then every year we need to go after the most abusive, damaging of the remaining "independent" agencies. Let's do fifty a year until they are all gone.

We need to destroy liberals until there are so few they need to be locked up in museums.

Since you tapped on me Henrin, opinion is kind of like that 91% for gun registration, eh.
You should bring in your boy Putin.
And Cruz is now waving the white flag after normal Repubs rebel.
Next you'll want to defund Social Secuirity. Where does this insanity end with you people?
