400 US surface-to-air missiles were 'STOLEN' from Libya during the Benghazi attack

Re: 400 US surface-to-air missiles were 'STOLEN' from Libya during the Benghazi att

One place 400 Stinger missiles would come in real handy right now is in the hands of the Syrian opposition forces?
It really blows chunks (usually chunks of your troops all over the place)
to try to conduct combat operations in a battlespace where your enemy has air superiority.

I would need more verification of that number, 400; but it is plainly obvious that no US consulate or embassy needs 400 missiles to protect itself. Maybe 40 at the most, so what the hell were they doing there?

Stinger missiles aren't made for that.

Hmm so is this a real problem or is it just another phony scandal?
Guess we won't know until one of those expended launchers turns up at the site of a downed airliner?

Re: 400 US surface-to-air missiles were 'STOLEN' from Libya during the Benghazi att

Okay, so they were Russian missiles and not Stinger or American missiles.

Stinger missiles aren't made for that.

so these dudes karted off 400 MIM-104 Patriot PAC 3's? That Rocks!

Re: 400 US surface-to-air missiles were 'STOLEN' from Libya during the Benghazi attac

So the theory is they killed an American servant who knew about conditions in Libya more than most and sold 400 missiles on the black market in a 2 (or more?) birds one stone type of plan?

I have no theory, however, knowing that they had dozens of agents on the scene that night, that they're on internal witch-hunts for anyone who might be thinking about a leak as to what they were doing, and considering the wickedly criminal history of the agency, there's no reason to automatically assume this wasn't a way to transfer arms to someone we're not supposed to transfer arms to in a way that couldn't ever be traced. That's more-or-less what the CIA is for.

So they WERE they the Russian equivalent to the stinger the 9K34 Strela-3?
Engagement altitude 0.03-2.3 km
a buncha well trained dudes with a 100 of those could make it somewhat prickly for Assad's aircraft

I'm not sure we know yet exactly what this stuff is.

or if any of this lame stream reporting is based on fact?
I guess at the end of the day this regime can do anything and suffer no repercussions.
Just another news cycle and in other news Gia Allemand was hospitalized on Monday, Aug. 12 in critical condition in New Orleans
