If you were right, then there's no way the United States could be the most powerful economy in the world.

Getting an education and acquiring a job in an office, wearing a suit and tie doesn't make one lazy.

.... "your" job? That implies it was yours to begin with. The job isn't yours at any point. It's the employers. He basically lend it to you until you are of no more use. Then they lend it to somebody else.

Mexicans are taking our jobs because they'll work for $2 per hour. Mexicans aren't any more ambitious than Americans.

We're not the largest economy because of management. We're the largest economy because of consumerism.

That's the kind of attitude I have when someone paints such a large group with such a broad brush. I have an excellent attitude and work ethic. When I was working gas stations, I was the guy who swept the lot so that the discarded cigarette butts didn't make me look bad. When I delivered pizzas, I was the guy who smiled through 25 cent tips.

If your posts reflect the kind of attitude you walk around with, then you definitely suck as a supervisor. :D

It's my job. It's my job to perform and protect. The only person that can lose my job, is me. An employer can't take my job back, unless I allow them to.

There are people who wear a suit and tie and work. they are normally not management because they get the job done. I will say relying on school to get you ahead or a job and not working does make one lazy. Top tell the truth the whole education thing is supposed to get you out of a position to be doing manual labor which is not lazy work in itself.

I have certainly learned enough in this world to know a suit and tie does not make one respectable, honest, moral, hard working, or even a good person. You could dress ariel castro in a suit and tie, and it does not make him any less of a POS. I am not really sure why you feel a suit and tie makes a person better, but I am not terribly surprised.

The economy is in the toilet, because the government won't get the hell out of the way and let the private sector do what it does best; make money.

You were the one who brought up a suit and tie. If you cannot deal with your own change in subject from management to suits then I cannot help you.

It's not about ambition, it's about the fact that the Mexicans will actually work when you tell them to. It's why I will always go to the Mexican welders first if something needs to be cut or welded on. They get it done that day, and they do it right the first time. Last time I went to the American welders, they took three days to tack (not weld, but tack) one of four of the brackets we needed attached, and two holes we needed cut on the bulkhead to feed hydraulic lines through were completely wrong. On top of that, they still wanted to be paid for the ****tiest work I had ever seen.

And yet, it's not production which drives an economy. It's demand. Which is why demand has made us into the world's largest economy. Not supplies.

Care to document that "fact"? I work with many Mexicans and they get paid the same as I do. If these Mexicans are no more ambitious then they should be very easy to compete with. As long as there are more people seeking work than jobs available then the "prevailing" wage will not rise and may even fall.

You get fired because you didn't do your job to standard, which is your fault. So, IOW, you gave them the job back, because you didn't want it anymore.

Some are illegal but most are not. Mexico has many problems, gov't corruption being the biggest. The US takes full advantage of the cheap labor that Mexico provides, thus has no real interest in dealing with its gov't's corruption. It does indeed take ambition to leave your family and friends behind to seek a new start in a foreign land.

Yes, it does take ambition to follow a coyote through the desert, knowing that he will leave you to die, should you become unable to continue. However, not all Mexicans are assholes and elbows, from day light to dark. There are just as many lazy ass Mexicans as there lazy ass Americans.
