You are correct. The breakdown of the Black family, with a large number of children raised in homes without fathers, along with generational welfare has done the trick. Few black men believe they are up to the task of being real men so they buy into the notion that they continually need help, which is of course not true.

What problem do you people have with that statement? He's saying economic hardships tend to exacerbate racial tensions, which is true. Somebody who is a racist will easily latch on to the "other" group as the cause of all their woes, and get angrier than they already are.

You don't see a problem with your President, in talking about "economic hardships" suggesting that people will blame those economic hardships on race and so exacerbate racial tensions. Remarkable.

What do you think the President is suggesting here? What economic policies has the President proposed to address or to lessen "racial tensions"?

I can name a couple of the President's policies that have exacerbated racial tensions - his constant drum beat that the rich should pay more and the less fortunate should benefit from the rich paying more - and, secondly, his push for immigration reform that gives illegals, mostly latino, legal access to the job market while working towards citizenship.

In the first case, the President is setting in the minds of the less fortunate that taking from the rich is acceptible - hell, if the President says we should take more from the rich, why not eliminate the middle man and simply steal from the rich. In the second case, the President is giving illegal latino immigrants a hand up to directly take jobs away from African Americans who have the largest percentage of the unemployment rate as it is, especially young black youth, and the President has done dick-all to address the African American unemployment.

Now, let's hear your example of public policy that Obama has championed to ease racial tension and support minorities. You'll have trouble, because part of Obama's political strategy is to exploit racial and class tensions.

Grow up? That's the best you got? I'm sure glad we got an iggy for people that aren't grown up.

on another fourm this morning I was talking to a guy about race, I dont remember the exact words but the quote did not say anything at all about race to me, nothing. I mentioned that to him and he said. "I can read between the lines." Maybe everyone just has hyperactive imaginations.

He's right...that's the whole root of racism and bigotry. It's always some poor schmuck with nothing hating and wanting to exclude some other poor schmuck from competing for that nothing.

There's a reason that every group targeted for racism has turned on the new group that has come into this country. It's competition.

Well, if Obama is worried about jobs, as reported in the article, he should look in the mirror - he's the main culprit in the jobless "recovery". He's been focusing on jobs like a laser for so long he's burned a hole through any stock in truth he ever had.
