Moderate Democrats are quitting on Obamacare

I favor single payer on anything catastrophic that requires hospitalization from broken bones to giving birth. Everything else whether going to doctor for a cold or cosmetic surgery for vain purposes a cash/charity system. Put in strict nutritional regulations on the food and beverage industry that turns the entire industry into whole foods and water. Yes kill Mcdonalds. Extreme plan...maybe, especially nutrition which likely is not realistic... but it will solve the problems of cost, waiting lines, and rationing. And imo would be a smart and healthy way to go.

I can't speak for other countries, but I can assure you that a patient in Canada with lung cancer will be taken care of with the highest amount of urgency and care, no matter the initial prognosis. However, the guy who needs the knee replacement might have to wait a bit longer. And our Supreme Court made the right decision... I truly believe that for profit healthcare is a human rights violation.

 the Supreme Court of your country insisted on allowing for-profit healthcare. Because state run systems were killing people by keeping them on waiting lists. I would say that refusing people the ability to seek healthcare is a human rights violation, not being upset because they don't seek it through the State.

Canada generally runs its' system more effectively - I'll give it that. We would not be able to replicate that - efficiency is not a hallmark of our government. But your government is wiser in several ways (which is why you have a higher Economic Freedom Index Score than we do) than ours, which also benefits your HC processes.

If this is in reference to the ruling regarding the Quebec Charter of Rights and Freedoms, then yes, the Supreme Court of Canada I believe ruled single payer systems as a violation of human rights in Quebec. I don't remember all of the details I think it's been over 10 years or so. As far as I know, nothing has changed in Quebec. I think if we were to incorporate for profit healthcare, it would open a huge can of worms and that is probably why nothing has changed.

It's a mistake to think our healthcare is government run. It is not. The government sets the basic rules and pays the bills. They don't tell doctors, clinics and hospitals what to do.

This law is junk, we always knew, Dems are getting to know it, and Obama has already admitted it (with the delayed implementation to 2015).

They're pandering to the people now that they can accept the fact that the people don't want Obamacare despite what these same democrats were saying when Nancy Pelosi was dragging her gavel around and gifting us with her stupidity. Either that or democrats just ran out of whitty excuses.

Make no mistake - unions played a major role in "changing the minds" of democrats.

Yeah, those awful working people, organizing and changing people's mind. Where do they get off doing things to make the lives of working Americans better?

Are you talking about black people?

Yeah where do they get nourishment - government..

Nigga, maybe you need to learn to survive by yourself..

What's the **** wrong wit U?

I think you got a little something there: is that a koolaid stain on your nice white sheets?

If I thought for a split second that American quality of health care could even be maintained, let alone go up, with the introducing of UHC I'd go for it.

Truth is that it can't. That's just a simple numbers game. The only way it could happen is if another nation came up with the money for R&D/investment and allow America to exist as a free rider.

I could go for some of that.

Finally the essence of conservatism rears its ugly head!

Who's trying to improve the lives of working folks? It sure as hell isn't the Democrats.

And THAT is why so many people wanting so called voluntary surgery end up in the US. They don't want to or can't suffer the pain of a bad hip or back until there is room for them in maybe 6 months to a year.

Greetings, apdst. :2wave:

Truthfully, I wonder at times if anyone is! And that's sad, because in any beehive or anthill hierarchy, as an example, it's the workers that make things thrive...no workers, and everything comes to a halt! We're no different, IMO. :peace:

It takes everyone. No consumers, no demand, no jobs. While I agree that none of the politicos are working for OUR best interests, the Democrats are sabotaging the working class harder and faster than anyone.

Not necessarily true - it's just that at that point the only job really available is subsistence farming/hunting, and various forms of theft.

True enough. All these people who haven't saved for retirement because they thought Social Security and Medicare were going to take care of them in their old age are about to be some pretty upset seniors.

Just move to UHC. No need to add too many steps. ;)

 yeah. because what our budget can really handle right now is another massive entitlement program.

Ah, you're repeating the Palin meme. Actually rich Canadians do come here because our system rations healthcare based on income. Pretty stupid way to promote public health.

Gotta have something to steal. To have something to steal, someone has to produce something worth stealing.
