Alec Baldwin using gay slurs

1. So what?

2. Nobody truly sympathizes with gays. They're an unnatural movement with no real numerical support. They merely have some very rich people in their movement is all.

3. Baldwin merely showed what 90% of Progressives truly feel. Pure disgust towards gays.

1. Agreed.

2. It's "natural" for people who are gay; not so much for the rest of us.

3. Baldwin's rant had nothing to do with "progressives"...or gays. I read it as a justifiably angry rant about jamming his foot up some drama queen's ass. Hell, I'm not even sure he knew the guy was gay.

Aren't the gay defenders trying to raise the SSM fight to civil right standards?

You can see from this thread that it is nowhere near that.

A woman says something 30 years ago and she loses her business, and Baldwin goes for the gay bash and the reaction is, who cares what he says.

It wasn't 30 years ago. Sheesh.

She said it in 1986. OK 27 years ago.

What is the difference?

Do a little research. She said it as recently as 2007, while preparing for her brother's wedding. She has a history of this type of behavior. Don't think this sweet lil' ole lady lost everything because she said a bad word 30 years ago. There's way more to it than that.

I'm not particularly concerned with being PC, particularly since the whole issue has ramped up. It seems almost everybody is out looking for something to be offended about and I have reached the end of my tolerance for it. In my case I am the owner of the business which makes me pretty much fire proof.

Whether or not I'm at all careful about being pc depends on who I'm talking to. I think people in general are just oversensitive, when there isn't something going on that is really worthy of their attention and concern then they have to find something. It's a faux issue.

I see how PC people are with certain issues even on DP, more less the public media and it doesn't usually jive with what's happening on the street level. It's like two different world's. There's a reality show called "Jokers" about 4 life long buddies pulling pranks on each other and everything they do would get them infracted here....lol

Alec Baldwin Twitter Meltdown Comes After Journalist Accuses Wife Of Tweeting During Funeral

"Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria Baldwin attended the late "Sopranos" actor James Gandolfini's funeral Thursday morning, but while they were among mourners at the New York City church, Hilaria's Twitter account appeared to remain active. After a report from the UK's Daily Mail detailing as much, Baldwin launched a Twitter rant against the publication's writer who produced the piece -- and used several gay slurs in the process."
Yeah, but it's Alec Baldwin and he's done some cool **** in movies, so no harm no foul.

Dean was fired for a hostile work environment and sexism.

Painting the Paula Dean thing as something said "30 years ago" is a wee bit disingenuous.

She had a continuous record of questionable statements and offensive behavior that persisted even after people complained. She also refused to hold her brother, an executive manager in one of her restaurants, accountable for sexual harassment and racist statement. In fact, she never once even bothered to tell her brother to tone it down.

In actuality, Dean was brought down less for her own racially insensitive statements than for defending her lout of a brother.

When asked in her deposition if she knew that her brother had shown pornographic movies on his work computer, and laid pornographic pictures out on his desk for all to see, she said, "Well, boys will be boys, and boys do like that kind of stuff (paraphrasing) so I guess it's possible." She was then asked if she thought it was wrong to have that kind of imagery laid out for all to see. She said, "Well it depends on what the relationship is between Bubba and whoever was in there." She would not say that, in no uncertain terms, was it wrong to have that out there.
