Actually, both of them say "conservative".
Neither of them say they were targeted for being conservative.
Actually, both of them say "conservative".
Its really amazing that the IRS admitted what it was doing and the process they used to do it targetted conservatives and somehow you cant admit it.
The IRS has audited people who are white. That doesn't mean it audited people because they are white
Except they admitted they targetted conservative groups because of their political beliefs
Yeah, let's create a situation where contributers can be publically intimidated. That's what America's all about...right?
Our govt works for the people who pay for election campaigns.
I want to know who they're working for.
You obviously want the united states of Al Qaida.
As an aside, are you admitting this is in fact what they did? And are you now excusing this action?
Just so we are clear on what you are saying.
They did not investigate any group because they were conservative
Bureaucrats chose questionable filtering methods, yes.
Still doesn't change the fact that the groups were free to operate until their applications were approved.
The only thing potentially hindered wwas anonymity.
You obviously prefer not to know whos funding yoir politicians.
The IRS flatly admitted they did so. Thanks for playing the part of the political ostrich for this thread, its been a party.
No, they did not and you can't quote the IRS saying "We targeted them because they were conservative"
The IRS used inappropriate criteria that identified for review Tea Party and other organizations applying for tax-exempt status based upon their names or policy positions instead of indications of potential political campaign intervention
No all I have is an IG report saying thats exactly what they did.
They were targeted for policy positions---IE their beliefs.
Funny you should mention this.
The way its going to work now is they can self determine in 120 days now and that status may be challenged on their income tax return in which case they can defend the status with an impartial arbitrator or judge. Im perfectly ok with that.
And yet, you still can't quote the IRS saying they targeted groups because they were conservative
Wrong again
The donors seeking anonymity will not donate under this system, at least until they are approved.
THEN Al Qaida can donate anonymously.
IRS admits targeting conservatives for tax scrutiny in 2012 election - Washington Post
Now combine that with the IG report which said the groups were delayed and investigated more intensely...
Or you can just say no it isnt again and engage in trolling behavior, your call.
IRS officials in Washington were involved in targeting of conservative groups - Washington Post
Let's make ballot results public, too, while we're at it.
That article does not contain any IRS quote saying that they targeted groups because they were right wing.
Actually, your side was free to have have anonymous donor lists and my side wasnt. Still want to go with the untargeted route?
Guess what the job of the executive branch is? To oversee the bureacracy and ensure things like this dont occur. So if they cant...looks like smaller government time to me.
If one side has anonymous donors and the other doesnt...wow, that looks targeted.
Al Qaida? Troll harder.
Nah.
One vote per person. No problem
Not everybody has millions to invest in candidates. BIG problem.
Right! There's nothing pointing to wrong doing within the IRS. I guess you think Obama as born in Kenya, too?And yet, you still can't quote the IRS saying they targeted groups because they were conservative
Wrong again
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Internal Revenue Service apologized Friday for what it acknowledged was "inappropriate" targeting of conservative political groups during the 2012 election to see if they were violating their tax-exempt status.
IRS apologizes for targeting tea party groups
As I said, exposure of contributers is just a ploy to expose and intimidate them. That is a BIG problem. This is still America, ya know.
Once again, the scandal involves what happened to these groups. Targeting is one issue. The other issue is not making timely determinations as to the status of the applicants. If all groups were targeted but only Tea Party groups were dumped into the "limbo" pile then it's still abuse.
You are relying on a months old report that does not have the whole story. The fact is that political groups on both sides were scrutinized for their claims of non-partisan status for tax exempt status, groups on both sides were targeted not for their ideology...but for their claims of being non-partisan.Right! There's nothing pointing to wrong doing within the IRS. I guess you think Obama as born in Kenya, too?
Oh snap!
