Update: U.S. training Syrian rebels; White House 'stepped up assistance'

So lets just train them in anti-air weapons? Then be like ehhh "yea were not providing those"
Remember we supposedly were not training them either for a while then turns out weve been doing that all along..

More transparency from the Obama administration. No wonder members of the secret keepers agencies of the USA are whistle blowing on his administration.

I'm content to await the outcome. Supporting the rebels is the right thing to do and the smart thing to do.

Well that's where we disagree Jack.....I don't think it is the Right thing for us to do. So that's where we will have to let it stand. As long a you were aware of the facts upon the flip side of the coin. Then it should be easy to understand what takes place after the conflict is over.

For once the Sunni wipes out all the Shia.....we wont be able to wipe our hands clean from it ever! ;)

I'd like to say that we'll soon know whether supporting the rebels was a good idea or not, but we still have Iraq war hawks contending that the invasion was a good idea in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. I think aid to Syrian rebels will be the same thing. It will be a disaster, but the same voices in favor of it will claim is was the right thing to do.

Iran and Iraq are Shia powers. I think they'll be able to take care of themselves.

You find credibility in Brits criticizing the United States? I have two words for that: Faulkland Islands.

On 20 May 1776 the British forces under the command of Lieutenant Clayton formally took their leave of Port Egmont, leaving a plaque asserting Britain's continuing sovereignty over the islands...

And it has been ours ever since..and because Argentina starts rattling it's sabre, it makes no difference..the people on the Falklands are British Citizens and must be protected..

How would you like it if Russia sent war-ships and troops to take Alaska back??
