Paula Deen Fired[W:223]

Re: Paula Deen Fired

I don't know if SHE'S done any bitching, but there's plenty going on on her behalf. Seriously, who cares, FN didn't renew Paula Deen's contract because they don't want her representing them. That's what it boils down to.

It's funny how some people on some threads will say that an employer should be able to fire an employee at will, that they can pick and choose their employees, yet sometimes they seem confused by their own ideologies. Not you per se, but just some people.

Somehow, I'm feeling like you're taking out some frustrations tonight, and that's okay. It would just be nice to be know beforehand...

Re: Paula Deen Fired

Hi Chrissy___just curious;

Do you only consider something to be "drama" when it's coming from a perspective you disagree with?!

That was rhetorical by the way, but do you see what I'm getting at girlfriend?!

Empie, the big red letters and wild exaggerations are what I'm referring to, not necessarily your viewpoint on the subject. ;)

I thought we were having a perfectly civil discussion. I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm so hurt now.

Read your post #274. It's where I got my inspiration for the post...

What my observation about people? It was just an observation.

It's not like I'm cussing anyone out or calling them the n-word or anything.

No, I just sensed some frustration with the topic...

Don't be hurt. They are trying to separate you from the herd and take you down like a group of weak pack animals.

Who the **** are you? Her daddy?

I am someone who was not addressing you. A status to which I will now happily return.

Re: Paula Deen Fired

Ahem. I seem a bit frustrated? ;)

A couple of direct questions is not a sign of frustration. It has been fun. Enjoy the remainder of your evening. Good night and be well...

Thanks! You too! :)

Re: Paula Deen Fired

Here is the entire post I made, in context maybe I am missing something, but the context here seems to do nothing to change nothing in relation to my quotation and reference to your post

Asking other posters to explain an "allegation" by another poster is disingenuous at best

I didn't ask him to explain it, he took issue with my response to it

when you also take what was clearly labeled as my personal opinion and distort it by deliberate edit so that you can present it as an allegation

You seem to be raising a distinction without a difference here. Regardless if it was your personal opinion, or not, you are still making an alligation

Please don't do this with my posts again.

You mean point out baseless allegations? Then don't make them

Re: Paula Deen Fired

I have already explained that as an owner, involved in the day to day operation of the business

And, again, the post I was responding to clearly was referencing Dean's personal behavior

Re: Paula Deen Fired

Some stupid cook got fired from her show for saying the 'N' word?

Sadly PC, but overall, I don't really care.

Not being racist isnt being pc. It's being a decent human.

Firing someone for apparently using he 'n' word years ago (which is my understanding of what happened) is being PC.
What someone says or does on their own time (providing it is legal) is none of your employer's business.
She was a cook after all...not a preacher.

In this case, I realize that PC correctness is pathetically important to TV producers...so firing her was probably a given.
But I still say it is none of their business.

Decent human being's don't fire people for what they legally do in their private lives.
It may have been fiscally prudent of them to fire her - but it had little/nothing to do with decency, IMO.

If you think most entertainment producers do things out of decency - you are extremely naive.
They probably fired her for greed and profit...no other reason (IMO).

Meh, a better example would be the guys that got chopped down for using black hole and niggardly. It's just nearly impossible to feel sorry for PD, though

Some people see emotions that are not there. I think it's their frustration with people (like you) who are not as emotional as they are.
