Paula Deen Fired[W:223]

Re: Paula Deen Fired

No one should be surprised when a tv personality is fired for using racist language.

Thing is, Food Network didn't fire her.

Re: Paula Deen Fired

...
...where she believed herself so beloved that she could utter racial slurs, sexually harass and generally market herself as a grandmotherly sexpot looking for a stud to cougar has finally burst.

note the allegation here

Note the dishonesty in quoting part of a sentence from my post, leaving off the point where I clearly labeled what I said as "opinion", not "allegation". You seem to do this a lot.

Here is the entire post I made, in context:

Paula Deen has lost more than her Food Network contract. She has been fired by Springfield Ham Company, and no longer will represent any of their products. Also, QVC is "watching the situation closely" in regard to whether they will continue to offer Deen's line of cookware on their network.

Personally, I think that the narcissistic bubble she created for herself where she believed herself so beloved that she could utter racial slurs, sexually harass and generally market herself as a grandmotherly sexpot looking for a stud to cougar has finally burst. A dose of humility was in order, and she just got hers.

Asking other posters to explain an "allegation" by another poster is disingenuous at best, but when you also take what was clearly labeled as my personal opinion and distort it by deliberate edit so that you can present it as an allegation, that is dishonest presentation. Please don't do this with my posts again.

Re: Paula Deen Fired

It's not renewing a contract.

You're splitting hairs a bit. If the contract expired in a year rather than a week, you might have a point...

Technically, she wasn't fired. Not renewing a contract is a little different than firing someone outright. Like someone else mentioned, that's the beauty of having a contract. You can decide at any time not to renew it.

What do you think they would have done if the contract had expired at the end of June 2014 instead of 2013? They would have used the morality clause (which any decent contract incorporates) to fire her. Fortunately for them, that decision wasn't necessary or really needed, but make no mistake, she was essentially fired...

Well if SHE broke the contract that she agreed to and signed, then that is the company's prerogative to fire her.

Yes, but everyone is trying to split hairs and saying she wasn't fired when in reality that is exactly what happened...

"Paula Deen Fired"

Political Correctness strikes yet again!

When are good people going to stand up and say Enough Is Enough and put an end to this racial injustice?!

Re: Paula Deen Fired

Not too much, just debating some current issues. How are things on your end?

Okay ... the Zimmerman and Snowden threads have gotten my attention.
The Immigration bill threads are too damn depressing.

So do you think every time a contract isn't renewed, that means a person was fired, or only in certain instances?

Uh-oh! Drama alert!

With this type of contract, yes, that would be a reasonable assumption...

Well then, perhaps she shouldn't have signed a contract agreeing to the terms then? You can't sign it and agree to it and then bitch about it later.

When they stand up to Catholics for the same thing.

I don't go near the Zimmerman threads. Snowden is strictly political at this moment with little redeeming social value. I will do immigration though...

I haven't noticed any bitching. Can you provide a source where she has done so?

I don't know if SHE'S done any bitching, but there's plenty going on on her behalf. Seriously, who cares, FN didn't renew Paula Deen's contract because they don't want her representing them. That's what it boils down to.

It's funny how some people on some threads will say that an employer should be able to fire an employee at will, that they can pick and choose their employees, yet sometimes they seem confused by their own ideologies. Not you per se, but just some people.

Hi Chrissy___just curious;

Do you only consider something to be "drama" when it's coming from a perspective you disagree with?!

That was rhetorical by the way, but do you see what I'm getting at girlfriend?!
