Revolt Among Republicans: 70 Members Plan Showdown with Boehner

Hispanics are not that stupid to think they should vote for republicans because they grudgingly agree to pass immigration reform. Republicans are so stupid they don't think they have do actually do the right thing.

I think it's stupid to lump all Hispanics (or all Republicans) into a monolithic group.

Importing and granting citizenship to 30 million people with 8th grade level educations seems like a swell way to create more Democrats.

It's been talked about a lot lately, specifically in the context that 1) The fact of Reagan granting amnesty did NOT increase Hispanic votes for Republicans and 2) Reagan's grant of amnesty initiated the foreign colonization that destroyed California and turned the former "Golden State" into the unsustainable Liberal welfare state that it is today.

The fact of the Gang of Eight Amnesty Bill before Congress right now has resulted in an analysis of the actual results of the Reagan Amnesty grant and there are even reports that, prior to his death, Reagan himself noted what a terrible mistake he had made in granting amnesty.

Republicans have a very narrow and unsophisticated understanding of Latinos ... it comes from the stereotypes with which cons typically operate ... their bigotry bites them on the butt at election time ...

I assume that you're talking about the GOP base ... true, it's not a terribly bright bunch, but they already are citizens, which is unfortunate .. the country would be much better off if we replaced them with immigrants from Mexico and other Latin American countries ...

Not necessarily:

Democrats and educational level (Politifact)

Sabato said that "the higher the education level, the more likely [voters] are to vote Democratic." Sabato bases his claim on 2008 exit polls showing this national trend. Several polls and analysis done on data from presidential elections dating back at least a decade support Sabato’s claim.

Still, looking at data for Georgia, the trend remains for white voters -- regardless of educational level -- to vote Republican.

For many areas of the country, Sabato’s claim holds true. But in Georgia and the Deep South, the GOP is still firmly in control. We rate Sabato’s statement Mostly True.

People without high school diploma's vote Democrat in very high numbers. Most people in inner cities are not high school graduates. Likewise for almost all of the poor.

Why not reimplement literacy tests and poll taxes then?

Is there a list of the members? I didn't see it in the article.

the last - reagan - amnesty so solved our nation's illegal alien problem
why shouldn't this one be just as effective

Whoever votes for final passage of this, and is from a district or state that is not liberal, will lose their seat. Whether they be Republican or Democrat.

Dunce. I do understand though why people like you want more people in this country that will demand the Democratic party as their patron.

Maybe if the republicans stopped intentionally and unintentionally ticking off potential Hispanic voters, they would win more elections at the presidential level.

How original. The race card.

Sorry if it bothers you but the fact is,today's republican party is using the same disenfranchisement tactics that they started in 1877.

Its just an updated, refined version, that the chairman of the rnc, priebus, is pushing in 21st century America.:2wave:

That's fine...almost nothing of consequence has passed with those 70 members anyway. They show up to "repeal" the Affordable Care Act for the 50th time but beyond that are useless.

While I agree bad decisions are being made, don't you Cons ever get tired of saying "ruin the United States" by now? I mean you use it for everything. First it was, "The United States is finished if we do Obamacare", then it was "The United States is finished if we re-elect Obama" and now this.

It's like the Doomsdayers that keep predicting the End of the World and continuously get proven wrong.

Look, I agree that there are many bad decisions, but when you guys keep going into "Doom and Gloom" mode it just gets old and sounds more like whining.

obamacare hasn't been implemented yet and we are only 6 months into his second term......two examples that have yet to be disproven, however seeing how the ACA is being predicted to ba a "train wreck" and the way scandals keep popping up maybe there is some truth to it.

Not passing immigration reform? What else are they doing that could be having that effect?

Which states would Romney picked up with a higher proportion of the Hispanic vote?

I'll give you a hint: it's less than one.

And which tactics, specifically, are they?
