One of the most clandestine gatherings in the world seems to be lifting the veils of secracy. The Bilderberg Group is famously shy of press attention, but this year its annual confab is inundated with reporters from some of the world's top media outlets. RT's Sara Firth went to Watford near London to try and find out what the world's most powerful group might be talking about.

So the press is paying more and more attention the Bilderberg group. Hopefully they can shuffle out all the conspiracy BS and some actual news what goes on behind those close doors. More transparency is always a good thing in my opinion.

Mostly because it's an invitation only event of the most powerful and richest people in the world. Didn't you get your invitation?
 
I'd rather have the Federal Reserve meetings be made public. Private groups can meet in private.

I couldn't attend this year, I've supper with the Queen. Nonetheless, I figure they will be discussing geopolitics, business, philosophy, current events... you know, all the same stuff we discuss here.

They ain't lettin' in no Queens this year. Too much trouble with infighting about their various ensemble. Still, a lot of those queens will be hot to trot outside the gates. Maybe one will match your outfit.

I wish I could get an invite into a secret society. Like a good one, not like a secret transgender society that debates the cruelty of separate men's and women's restrooms.
 
Are we done with the "ooooh, what are they gonna talk about"? Obviously, they don't have any information that we don't. No evidence of aliens, truth or birf. No secret knowledge of the elders. They're just gonna talk about the same stuff we talk about.

Can we accept that? Can we just drop the whole moron routine, as if we're left in the dark about something.

I do agree with the sentiment that they talk about things we too discuss, but since the event is held under National Security Special Event status, as well the overall secrecy involved, I'd wager that they discuss things outside of our purview as well, probably likely trends or events that industry and intelligence have concluded will arise over a period of time, or something like it. Because really, if all they were discussing was open-source, then we'd be able to see it on C-SPAN. But, since it is not televised on C-SPAN, and is closely guarded, one can safely deduct they're discussing confidential and classified material, along with the stuff we likely all are aware of.

Oh, so the "conspiracy theorists" take 40 years exposing this group, and then the spectacle can no longer be concealed and this group (which even LAST YEAR DID NOT EXIST when people like you were told, hell even this year some (like the bbc) tried to claim this was all fake).

Now that they are exposed and making themselves known publicly, you are still trying to claim like you know better??

At what point do you say "oh I guess I was wrong?"

Well, back in 1956 they were talking about how to unify Germany to prevent communism from getting a foothold into Europe so that they could use those agreements as a framework to unify Europe under a single government with a single currency. 50 years later there was the euro in circulation.

Ultimately, they are discussing their intentions and agendas for the next decades as heads of their respective industries and countries.

Here's the bigger question:
If the 200 or so managers of all major sports were to meet in secret to discuss the future of sports what would the media do to get access??

Now, the 200 or so world leaders of countries and industry meet in secret to discuss the future world events, why is the media not only remaining silent on the issue, but actively attacking people pursuing information as to what and who is behind closed doors (often illegally, Logan act for example)?

But no, I'll trust the expertise of the person who only recently come to accept that the group actually exists.

Who do you think helped put them where they are right now?

This group with their combined money, influence, and political or corporate power basically runs the world... Well, the western world at least.

Even if it's only in a discreet way.

Oh, please. My girlfriend and I can have a conversation that is open-source and you cannot see it on C-SPAN. Since when did privacy become an indication of conspiracy. Your premise is that any private conversation should be on C-SPAN; that's ridiculous.

You don't need any expertise. All you need is common sense and an awareness that there is no super special secret information accessible only to the Bilder Group. If you can just accept that, all the conspiracy goes away.

Not anything that you could not generate yourself. The government is not giving them top secret information with which to dominate the world.

I did not realize I was communicating with an expert on the Bilderberg meetings. Are you a staffer? Tell me, how do you get this inside information when so many others are left outside protesting and wondering what's going on.
