Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) announced early Wednesday that she will not seek a fifth term in office. The decision to bow out of the 2014 race was announced in a YouTube video on the congresswoman's website and on her Facebook page.
Although Bachmann didn't give an exact reason for her departure, she explained that an eight-year term in the House was enough.
"The law limits anyone from serving as president of the United States for more than eight years, and in my opinion, well, eight years is also long enough for an individual to serve as a representative for a specific Congressional district," Bachmann said.

Average I.Q. in Congress Expected to Rise in 2015 : The New Yorker

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—The average I.Q. of a member of the House of Representatives is expected to rise sharply in 2015, experts said today.

The experts, who indicated that they were “cautiously optimistic” about the development, said that the gains were most likely to be made in the Midwest.

The expected rise in I.Q. could mean that the average congressperson would have a greater grasp of basic concepts in math and science, including the law of evolution, as well as addition and subtraction.

I am really sorry to see her go. She will be missed. Lets hope whe gets the GOP nomination for Prez in 2016.

Ding dong the witch is gone! Maybe MN could learn from this, she had four terms, seriously??

She probably knew that she would lose to Jim graves in a rematch. Given how close he came to unseating her in 2012 I think she was spooked out of her wits.

To vote better next time.

After four terms of her, I'm pessimistic about Minnesotans voting in anything better than an eggbeater at this point.

Lol although eggbeaters are an extremely useful tool, unlike most of congress who are just tools.

Hey! That's only the 6th District. Of course the 5th has Keith Ellison, so we shouldn't talk.
