High School Track Team Disqualified When Runner Gestures Thanks to God

I buy the "War on Christianity?" What gave you that idea?
What I always find most amusing is that those who buy into the "War on Christianity" argument are usually the ones who have no problem with the war against Muslims.

I really don't understand why you cannot do your own research on this.

I see nothing wrong with anything any of those athletes did.

If the crowd or some people inthe crowd want to take offense totheir actions, that is on them.

How is that video relvant to this story though? Those were profesional teams and players.

I understand why the NFL has their rules. It's a business, and all the prance and dance crap was getting out of hand... turning folks off.

Not only turning folks off, because I would bet there are as many that liked it that don't, but it wastes time and time is money.

The dancing holds up the game and costs millions so of course it had to be eliminated.

Taunting is bad sportsmenship and that is already covered. They didn't need a new rule about it.

Why are you asking me? You're the one that didn't know what taunting was. You asked what it was and how it happens at a sports event and I showed you.

Why did you post about something that has absolutely nothing to do with this OP?

It does. See if you can follow the line of thought. Go back to the beginning of the thread and see if you can get here and understand how it all ties together. Go.

It doesn't tie toigether.

This guy did nothing to taunt anybody, and why or anybody so worried about somebodys feelings?

Like I said taunting is covered under bad sportsmanship so it does not need its own rule.

It does. Just go back and follow the flow of the thread.

But he violated the rule. The rule was put into place to remove taunting. You'd know this if you had actually gone back and read through the thread like I wanted you to.

Like I said taunting is covered under bad sportsmanship so it does not need its own rule.
He wasn't disqualified for taunting, he was disqualified for the gesture he made. The gesture was banned because it obviously had been used for taunting in the past. Again, this has already been covered multiple times. Please re-read the thread so we do not have to keep repeating stuff which has already been posted.

'They' didn't know and didn't care. This isn't a religious thing but by rule no one can raise an arm after an event. That is apparently what he was cited for and the DQ issued.

FYI Maggie started a thread on this already....

Maybe he was praising Allah, and now he's going to burn an American flag on your lawn.

Maybe he was praising Allah, and now he's going to burn an American flag on your lawn.

If THAT was what he was doing then I doubt very much Fox Noise and a few right wingers in here would be lamenting the 'crushing' of religious freedom...

1. How do they know it was God?
2. Did they ask him?
3. And what does it matter if he had?

Whoever was involved with the DQ should be DQ'd from officiating sport events.

The DQ is 100% ridiculous.

so many people remain alive because it is a serious felony to shoot even gaping assholes

Maybe he was praising Allah, and now he's going to burn an American flag on your lawn.

He'd still get disqualified and lighting a flag on fire on my lawn would get an ass kicking. (although really burning anything on my lawn is going to get an ass kicking if it's not in a charcoal grill (parenthesis in parenthesis: propane is of the devil))

edit: clarification: burning an American flag inside a charcoal grill on my lawn is also not acceptable. Grills are only for meat products.

edit2: further clarification: fake meat products like veggie burgers will also result in an ass kicking, you damned hippie.

edit3: still more clarification: veggie burgers are acceptable for people with a heart condition or other serious medical reason to avoid meat. bring a doctor's note.

Amen for that. Although I hear grilled corn on the cob can be good.

Never read past the first page, but after hearing about how outrageous this was all day, I listen to talk radio, I find that this doesn't bother me. Everyone knows the rules and this person broke the rules.

Talk radio, like any other media source discussing current events, has every reason to make something sound more exciting or more scary than it really is. Because that gets people to listen. To the commercials.
