College Professor Arrested for Profane Rant at Pro-Life Students

And if according to the officer's judgment you are guilty you will be allowed to present your case in court.

With laws set as they deem and the insistence that jury nullification is not legal.

Awesome! What a foul mouth. She deserved to be arrested. She continued cursing after they asked her not to. I only wish she would have resisted arrest or punched one of the LEO's in the face. Would have loved to see her slammed face first into the concrete with a knee in her back while being cuffed. Not that would have been truely awesome.

Because it's "wrong" to tell Christians where they can go ?..........................

Who said anything about christians? I just like seeing liberals getting their faces slammed into concrete. And their heads busted with batons too. I'm very disappointed that she didn't attack the cops.

I agree. Not really representative of the Academy.

Curry made a point of saying for the cameras to tell her class that she was being arrested, so there's that. Maybe her time might have been better spent preparing for that class instead of standing around acting like a jerk.

I mean, I watched the vid. She's just having her little tantrum, and so what? From what I've read, she was arrested for disorderly conduct, that apparently being defined as repeatedly dropping the f-bomb. Don't know state/local/university rules, but I am guessing that the cops wouldn't have arrested her if she hadn't violated the law.

Whether that law is "smart" or "good" isn't necessarily relevant to her arrest. Did she break the law? Will Curry become a folk-heroine? Who knows. All that matters is whether she broke the law. If she did, tough noogies.

Furthermore, a folk-heroine to who? My suspicion would be an incredibly small minority at the campus itself, and an even smaller number on the internet.

For all of the pretensions of whether or not someone is liberal, conservative, pro-choice, pro-life, and civilly disobedient, so on and so forth, the greater problem is one of professional behavior. An abortion display, approved by the college, comes and goes. No need to make a fuss. Being respected by the college or university you are teaching at? That's worth a whole lot more than some silly display.

And I thinks it's completely appropriate for Christians to be showered with profanity anytime, anywhere......................

One of the best classes I had as an undergrad was from a marketing professor who was a strong advocate for a form of socialism! His reasoning was at one level plausible, but his reasoning was crap. We would argue with the guy. He was an arrogant asshole AND he was wrong. We spent hours disproving some of his assertions just to get back at the prick. I once walked out of class. Near the last part of the semester it dawned on us what he was doing. He was brilliant. We bought into it early on. I learned so damn much in that class. It was a great experience. I never cut his classes because I wanted to be there and dare him to prove me wrong. Great professor...and he was still a prick.

I would've been cool with that as well, I tried at first to make a game out of it, disprove his positions, talk to him after class, etc. etc. I did my research, showed up prepared, and carefully formulated my arguments as best as I possibly could. Usually he would just ignore what I had to say and fall back on his talking points, which I would try to respond to, or occasionally he would attempt to criticize what I had to say, which I also tried to respond to. Most of the time I didn't actually get to respond to him and he didn't always call on me, but I actively thought about what he had to say, how he said it, and where he was strong and weak in his argument. Then, around half way in the semester he pulled me to the side after class and pretty much told me that disagreeing with what he said was a "distraction to the rest of the class." So in otherwords, I kept to myself from that point on; which is probably a good thing because at the point the class really became less about discussion and more about his tirades on Marxism.

At least for me personally, I suppose I don't really learn from professors like that. I find it too easy picking apart their arguments, its almost not even a challenge. Then they usually come up with really bad counterarguments, which makes me feel like my effort was wasted. Furthermore, its almost sort of offending to me, I expect my professors to be smarter then me, to one up me, and to make me have to back and research my position and come up with a new one. I don't expect to be able to go toe to toe with them and see them flinch.

Hmm, I see both sides as repulsive. I don't care for public cussing nor displays of bloody fetuses.

Neither side is trying to sway others to their thinking, they just want to make a public stink. Go to hell with both sides.

Just as the Westboro Baptist Asswipes, they have no intention of persuading people to join their thinking. They just want to get in your face and scream. To hell with them too.

An odd thing to post considering the topic.

Why would that be?

I'm tolerant of Commi-Libs. I don't like them but tolerate them. I believe Commi-Libs and those who support them are ignoramuses for the most part, and have serious problems with logic and honesty. Obama is their poster boy; the man who on the one hand condemns bombings as everyone should, but has a past where he sought out a terrorist to assist him with his political career. You see... a dumbass and a dishonest one to boot.
