An Inconvenient Truth - By Micah Zenko | Foreign Policy

It turns out that the Obama administration has not been honest about who the CIA has been targeting with drones in Pakistan. Jonathan Landay, national security reporter at McClatchy Newspapers, has provided the first analysis of drone-strike victims that is based upon internal, top-secret U.S. intelligence reports. It is the most important reporting on U.S. drone strikes to date because Landay, using U.S. government assessments, plainly demonstrates that the claim repeatedly made by President Obama and his senior aides -- that targeted killings are limited only to officials, members, and affiliates of al Qaeda who pose an imminent threat of attack on the U.S. homeland -- is false.

Why is the Obama administration being dishonest about a subject that the American people would be, and are generally speaking, apathetic towards? If the administration is being dishonest about something like that, would it not be logical to concern ourselves with what his capacity is for truth telling on matters we Americans do deem important?

Is this not the exact sort of behavior that warrants questions, criticisms, and concerns over the Administrations domestic drone policy?

There is nothing Obama could do for which Democrats and liberals won't support him and the hawks like it - so he can kill anyone he wants with his own party's blessings and no significant Republican opposition either. Just like no one dare oppose his corporate give-aways to the super rich.
