Chelsea Clinton open to run for office

We don't need political dynasties.
It undermines the entire point of having free and fair elections by inserting people, who have political connections rather than by merit alone.
This goes for any politician, conservative, liberal, etc.

That was an interesting case but Rand did not take the office his father had.

different state, different office doesn't bother me as much as say the "Kennedy" seat in Mass.

By being an informed and well minded voter.
That doesn't mean being lib or con, it means being mindful that these people are already well connected to the insiders and that it wouldn't be prudent to vote for them.

I know, I'm reaching with this.
People don't care about this stuff, they just want their team to win, regardless of the consequences.

So just because you come from a "political" family means you shouldnt be voted into office?
 
I am also no fan of these political dynasties we tend to get. But at the same time, if you are raised by politicians and grow up surrounded by politics, and everyone, including the media, is always asking you about politics, it is understandable that you may likely go into a career in politics.

It wouldn’t be so bad if we could make anathema the concept of the career politician.

that's a great idea

back in the olden days it was a sacrifice to go into office. the best politicians are those for whom political office was often their worst or lowest paying jobs

look at lots of the clowns we have now. What would Maxine Waters etc do that would make them more money then they get in congress?

Trust me, HoJ is ONLY concern about if someone is conservative or not. There is no other qualification for being bad or evil. It just that lame.

I'd say the same thing which qualifies every other American citizen to run for office: the constitution... but that's just a crazy thought. Forgive us if we don't all ascribe to logical fallacies.

She is as qualified as any one. Whether I would support her or not depends entirely on her stand on the issues and her stated priorities with regards to those issues. Without knowing that, it is painfully stupid to discuss whether some one should be elected.

If Chelsea's old enough then she's perfectly free to test her chops. Like Redress I'm really not familiar with her platform, though.

I wouldn't vote for either female Clinton or either of the female Republicans you mentioned. A woman's place is not in politics. Never has been and never will be.

Yeah, it'll make ya old and grey before your time. Just look at her dad. And her mom doesn't look all that youthful anymore. When ya run with wolves, odds are you'll get chewed up.

Very true. It's an unfortunate reality that neither side of the gender line lives up to its proper duties and responsibilities for the most part anymore. We don't have to like it and we don't have to put up with it in our lives either; regardless of what society does.

Chelsea will take over her dad's center when he croaks. I doubt she would ever run for office--she just needs to be politically relevant to someone to do the job she is destined for.
