So Mister Young personally checked if all of them were illegal immigrants or if there were legal hispanics working for his father when harvesting his crops? Or is he just making wild generalizations with his wetbacks comment.

The problem with illegal immigrants is not that people want to get to the USA for jobs, the problem is that people like mr. Young's father both profiteered from illegal immigrants but were also (most likely) belonged to those people who were most vocal in their dislike of illegal immigrants into "their" country.

I disagree with most of the extreme Conservatives on here, but at least they have the guts to state what they are.

no, it is not a fact. He might not be a formal leader, but he is indeed a very effective leader. Arguably THE leader.

Who has Rush ever "bullied"? I'm not a fan of Rush at all, but you people make him out to be more than he is. He is not a political party leader, and he has no influence on elected officials.

Both Micheal Steele and Phil Gingrey apologized to him after they got flack for making comments about him being "just an entertainer", due to the political backlash of those statements

I'm not using any tactic, it was a question. You said that Rush bullies politicians, and you gave an example, and I asked you if you consider that bullying on Rush's part?

Rush has had a great deal of clout with the party because he can deliver voters and he can deliver the message. However, leadership role, never.

Actually they weren't allowed to stay but were not allowed to continue to cross the border for temp work for a season and then go home with the ability to come back again next season. Tightening the borders had the unintended consequences of bringing MORE across as the families joined the workers and set up permanent residence on this side of the Rio.

What the result turned out to be is making the border a one way crossing, no more easy transit back and forth to do the grunt work few 'real' citizens were willing to do.

The guest worker programs were highly restricted BEFORE families started coming over to live 365 days a year, but I agree there needs to be a realistic guest worker program if there is any hope of keeping stoop labor farm goods flowing and limiting the number coming here to live permanently.

Course from my POV, that doesn't mean the immigration policy should be kept so low. Time for some more salsa in the melting pot!

He doesn't hold elected office or official status in any political organization, but that clout still makes him a political leader
