GOP Lawmaker Calls Hispanic Workers ‘Wetbacks’

Where have you been..

We have called them wetbacks, gooks, chinks, spics, spearchunckers, niggers, wops, polacks, ragheads and sandniggers FOREVER.......

Huh? How does that answer my post? Heck, I'm not for calling citizens anything other than citizens, don't even support the lame hyphenated american labels. But illegals? Call them whatever you wish, they're not supposed to be here in the first place. What names we call them will only apply if they're here and illegally.

For years they did the work that "legal" residents were too good to do.

Call them what you want but farmers needed them to bring in their crops. Don't give me that they were taking jobs from Americans unless you and your family followed crop production.

well, if you are left deciding between "alien", "wetback" ,and "vermin".. I would suggest not calling them anything.... I'd suggest not talking at all.

I don't like thieves. They take from legal immigrants and green card holders. They are CRIMINALS. OUTLAWS. I live in California, so I am quite familiar with the vermin. And they are vermin, make no mistake, they do all the things that vermin do. Their presence is deteriorating my state. They are a major problem. Quite frankly what I call them is nothing to a lot of immigrants and green card holders call them. They are not nearly so nice. I am polite in comparison. I have picked some VERY inventive epithets from my immigrant friends during the course of our conversations. Wetback by far aint the meanest. I think I will go back to calling them wetbacks my self. Apparently its become an invective. I like it has more power now than when I was kid. I think I will bring out of the closet and take it for test run. Especially since you don't like me calling the vermin the polite correct term, aliens. Thank you for helping me make my mind up. I appreciate it. :)

That's a crock. Its the construction trade that was hiring most of them. Most farm work is done by green card holders that have been doing it for generations literally.

Well, if they weren't here illegally wouldn't have to call them anything at all except maybe neighbor or citizen. If illegals don't like what they're called then they can go the **** away to their own home.

i'm sure they were saying that about my family members once upon a time...

they had lots of epithets for my people as well
bosch, fritz, herm, Kraut, Bazi
cat lick, bog jumper, coal cracker, carrot, clown, fenian , fire bush, mackerel snapper, Mick, paddy ,pot licker, proddy, torry, white nigger, wic, sid
....I could go on and on

Well, as long as you use just here on the internet where you can by anonymous you may be okay.

I grew up on a farm in the San Joaguin Valley. You are totally off base.

The Department of Labor has reported that 53 percent of the 2.5 million farm workers in the United States are illegal immigrants, though growers and labor unions say as much as 70 percent of younger field hands are illegal.

Right, like I said, you didn't back up your claim. Please show me Republican politicians who SAID WHAT YOU CLAIM REPUBLICANS SAY. Rush isn't a politician in any party, a random woman on Facebook, who the hell knows what she is? And a Congressman that said nothing that you claimed. Nice!

What do they say about that river in Egypt? :doh

You forgot Mc's, Krauts, Japs and Limey.

Yeah, and if they were here illegally you might have a small point. But they probably weren't and you most likely don't.

Yeah, I saw that transition happening. It's because we screwed up the migrant programs by allowing them to bring families with them and supporting those families with social services while they were here. Then we allowed them to stay - breaking the whole concept of "migrant" worker.

Return to the concept of the true guest worker - here to do the work and then go home.

You grew in the San Joaquin, whereabouts? I grew up and still live in Bakersfield. Actually outside a bit Greenfield. Well it was outside.

Ah Bakersfield, the armpit of California. Nevada City myself.

That's what everybody calls it or other less nice things. I liked living here. Not so much anymore. The stupid is becoming too much for me to bear. I love my state, but I am tired of fighting these twits.

Yeah, my brother and his family still live in NC and he despairs for the state.

Hanford. You ever run into Buck?

there were "open borders" back then..... but the treatment of immigrants by small minded bigots was identical to today.
the same arguments were made as to why we should ship them "back home".. the same sentiments of them being criminals, worthless humans, filthy people, etc... yup, identical to today.
the primary difference is that today folks skulk behind the law to spew their bigotry.

I'm sure you'll still believe I have no point... but that's fine.. history and facts are on my side.

Wonderful historic strawman. No one is arguing they are "worthless humans, filthy people, etc", but they are criminals and they are NOT immigrants. Whole different ball of wax. We do not have open borders now, no nation on earth AFAIK does any longer.

if Bakersfield is the armpit, I guess that makes Lancaster/Palmdale the asshole...which is where I went to high school many moons ago:lol:

Heh, no, that would be Redding.

ah yes, nobody is arguing they are worthless and filthy... they would have to be calling them something like... I dunno, maybe "vermin"?.. for that to be true.

actually, they are immigrants... "illegal immigrants" i believe is what we call them ..well, that plus vermin and wetbacks.

it is possible to be opposed to illegal immigration and not be a bigot... it's just that altogether too many folks have chosen to not even try.

No, they're illegal aliens. And most folks I know who express opposition to illegal aliens do so for ALL illegal aliens, no matter their host country. Being bigotted against criminals, folks who are invading your country, is a natural and appropriate reaction.

But they are considered as aliens. It is not derogatory in any way shape or form.
