NRA Certificate and “Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting” Found in Adam[W: 143]

What if they found a bible in his home, Can we consider that evil? Maybe it brought him to become a Marty?

We should ban books to stop this evil. :lamo (Sarcasm Sensed in this line)

NRA Certificate and

The sickness that is the NRA continues to be exposed.

Re: NRA Certificate and “Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting” Found in Adam Lanza’

1) Ironic comment from you. Within my paragraph lies the same response I am now apparently needing to spoon feed you: "for the masses," is not a "commie" term. The philosophers I quoted all existed prior to Karl Marx, and they ALL discussed things "for the masses." Machiavelli frequently referred to the masses in both the "Prince" and "The Discourses." He was a monarchist in favor of bringing back the old Roman Republic. Sorry if I laugh at your understanding of political philosophy...it is so misinformed and you refuse to listen. I recommend you take and read ALL the philosophers I mentioned above combined with Karl Marx. "Commie" won't mean what you think it does, and I also seriously doubt you have even read through all of Marx's "Communist Manifesto" anyway.

The part you really seem to be stuck on though isn't your lack of understanding of "commie" though. You also seem to be stuck on that whole NRA "not" being for the masses. It is. Because "for the masses" is a generic term and the NRA wants to promote civilian marksmanship, or the United States civilian population, that would be the "masses" of the United States. There is no wiggling or spinning going on bud. Im trying to educate you on political theory now so you may carry that knowledge with you and not continue to spout the nonsense you have posted far too many times already.

2) Lol!! Do you understand how lobbyists work? Wine and dining politicians is how it works bud. That way you make sure the right palms are greased when some dimwit like Feinstein decides to start yapping and an aggressive 2nd Term Obama to start writing EOs. No liberal will get their legislation pushed through because of those greased palms from the pro gun lobby. You don't like how lobbying works? Don't send your money to a lobbyist organization. You only have you to blame for sending your money there if you don't like them. And if you don't like the way they operate I suggest you not renew any membership you have if it is yearly, or tell them to remove your membership if you are a life member (that is what I am). It just sounds like crying on your end to me now that I understand you don't get how a lobbying organization works.

3) (eye roll) You understand that my statement about "legislating" something is that that is the only way for YOU to get what you want with background checks on SAFETY training. Short of that you are nothing but crying about the NRA NOT being redundant about background checks, and NOT violating a very important foundation of our legal system and assuming innocent before proven guilty, a principle you clearly have a problem with...which is sad because you wouldn't want to live in a nation where you are assumed guilty until proven innocent and proving your innocence means the burden of proof is on you rather than your accuser.

4) You "prove your innocence" to demonstrate a right. You are limited by the no "convicted felon" requirement, which is in fact a compromise and that is all within reason. You also must demonstrate your legality in purchasing your own firearm. You cannot be a felon and own a gun. Nor can you be declared mentally incapable of ownership. So basically the already established LAWs you mention already make it a redundancy for the NRA to background check members. Seriously. This whole concept is redundancy wrapped up in a giant repetitive circular 360 process. Why prove you are capable of legal gun ownership for training when you are not legally allowed to be an owner? Seems redundant. I also wonder why there has been no huge push for former NRA convicted felons?

5) As for the "NRA denial." A simple google search should take you 5 seconds if you are on a good connection. They are "denying" a "membership" relationship. Do you know what that means? He...nor his mother...were members. He had a "certificate" with his name on it. As you can find as a member...a template for these. I've also seen "NRA approved" certificates for clubs. So basically...a simple google search says the NRA certificate is.........irrelevant. If you wish to place blame on them...well I'm sorry but court of law would find the evidence circumstantial at best. So why relevance does the NRA have in reference to the Newtown Shooter?

Yes. I see anti NRA dogma in the guise of "responsibility." I don't like the NRA that much, but I see them for what they are. Lobbyists. Lobbyists are not hookers. They are the people who pay for the hookers...politicians. And in the case you are making against the NRA you have nothing rational or relevant.

Young man, you can't spoon feed me, you know you screwed the pooch using a commie term for what the NRA does. Dance around and try to claim it is older is silly. The NRA NEVER uses the term 'masses'.

Oh I know how a lobbyist works, i also know wine and dine is the tip of a very unsavory iceberg...if ONLY it could be kept to just that. You also jump into the cycle where you wish, i have a much longer association with the NRA and their constant shrill cries and calls for money. If there is no 'threat' they will invent one.

Now you dance, this isn't about the NRA violating anything, it is what RESPONSIBLE schools routinely do, insure their students are not felons or ever been declared mentally incompetent. It takes no one's right away from any citizen who can legally purchase a firearm.

I am not claiming Lanza was a member but pointing out the NRA had infact trained him and either had no record or withheld that information. Nothing more, and nothing less

Ok. Explain how this would have actually changed anything. It's not like shooting a firearm is rocket science, or something that can only be learned with professional training. It isn't. Plenty of good shooters are self-taught.

Re: NRA Certificate and “Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting” Found in Adam Lanza’

Well, you have the right to your opinion, but if you aren't disturbed by the mass murderer of two dozen children honing his skills with NRA material, I can't imagine what would disturb you. Personally I find this for profit organization sickening.

You cannot 'hone skills' by reading written material.

You cannot shove the bodies of 20 children, not 24, into intelligent people's faces just to 'hone' your pathetic agenda.

The only 'sickening' item here is your is your unabashed trolling.

Re: NRA Certificate and “Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting” Found in Adam Lanza’

More idiocy. The NRA is not the issue here. And those who whine about the NRA are generally those who are mad that the NRA funnels money to candidates who don't suck on the socialist tit

Sorry charlie, you tried to bring your own brand of moronic 'logic' into this and had your head/butt handed to you. try now to change the discussion is another Turtle dodge. More broad and false swipes. The issue isn't who the NRA supports, again you run away from the topic after a good whipping...

Your attempt to turn the topic away from the NRA cert and to who the NRA bribes...ahh funds is typical Turtle fail... you are dismissed :2wave:

LOL, try as you might you will never ascend the mountain of logic nor soar in the sky of reason. Your posts are relegated to the valley of fail. Your whines about the NRA are nothing more than silly and bitter bovine excrement.

Et tu? This WAS a very simple topic until the ranters launched off topic rants and 'arguments'. The discussion centered around the NRA not doing what EVERY school I know of does... simple backround checks and keeping track of who they issue certificates to.

Every other school I know does both.

FYI to all the whiners and ranters- I NEVER said doing the RESPONSIBLE thing would have altered the outcome, just it is amazing the NRA is so lax, and not even a little bit responsible.

Laughing, more typical Turtle, caught spewing opinion as fact and schooled over it so you declare the other poster as failing. Classic Turtle deflection... tell us again what Ashcroft claims or how many shooters learned on video games...

Sir you can't dig yourself out of a hole and manual labor is so not you. :2wave:

give it up-your moronic attempt to bash the NRA using Lanza is pathetic. why should they keep track? so people like you can blame them retroactively?

its silly and dishonest rant you have made

Yeah, you'd love not to talk about it and to let the NRA and boomsticklovers keep training and arming the next mass murderer, wouldn't you.

Sorry, your NRA mind tricks don't work here.

Following your logic, we should blame 9/11 on Boeing for producing flight manuals.

Any type of training or information has the potential to be abused, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be available.

Re: NRA Certificate and “Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting” Found in Adam Lanza’

What do you suggest be done?

First, stop the weird rightwing gun porn memes from the NRA that make it impossible to discuss gun control rationally.

Second, look what other countries like the UK and Australia have done to successfully curb gun violence and see if it can be adapted to the US.

Third, require a license to own a gun and make gun owners liable for any violence caused by that gun if it is transfered to a third party.

Fourth, require gun owners to buy insurance to clean up for the messes they cause.

Fifth, surcharge gun manufactureres to help pay for the mess they cause.

Sixth, treat guns like booze and cigarettes, a health hazard that needs to be curtailed through public information, especailly against gun culture and its pornographic visions of violence.

Seven, restrict magazines and other macho accessories like armor piercing bullets.

Eight, if this doesn't work, ban guns like the UK and Australia did. It worked there.

No, following your illogic.

Boeing makes and flies planes. A good thing.

The NRA promotes shooting guns, generally a dangerous and bad thing, especially when linked to their gun porn view of the world, which the mad shooters usually buy into.

If you can't see the difference between aircraft and shooting people, I can't help you.

This whole thread is meaningless if all of that (what the NRA should supposedly have done) would have made effectively zero difference.

The point is pointless.

1) Mr. Notquiteright. I will not discuss this with you further. You have sat within six feet of your computer--and could have asked me about "for the masses." You have seen fit to bring it out, and if there is a God in Heaven, it will neither do you not your cause any good. I will not discuss it further. I will not ask Mr. Cohn any more witnesses. You Mr. Chairman may call your next witness.

2) So what you are telling me now is that you don't like that NRA is republican? That you voted for Obama? And that despite your years of membership and clear disappointment...you aren't willing to leave the organization? You joined them. Your complaints are now on dead ears. They are a pivotal part in stunting the growth of any liberal anti-gun agenda...and even stunting any republican with an antigun agenda. Why? Their ads, their money, and their lobbyists. Clearly you aren't willing to open your eyes and look at how impacted out political system has been and how effective they have been in the past 10 or so years.

3) And I'm asking you why is it responsible rather than redundant? You fail to respond to that. At long last at what point did it become responsible to assume guilt? Tell me what purpose is there in checking?

4) No. Clearly his mother got the Newtown shooter into shooting. I have also pointed out that the "certificate" is irrelevant. Many schools actually use the document...and the NRA certificate TEMPLATE (which if you are computer irrelevant means...the non-filled out copy of their certificate for others to copy...googleable definition...)...is on the website. Do you NOT have google?

Check all this out. And then tell me. Why does it matter if he had an NRA certificate? And can you show conclusive proof that it was the NRA that trained him and not a school using the NRA template? Or is all you have circumstantial evidence that is irrelevant?

Much like guns, Boeing's aircraft are a bad thing if used in a illegal or irresponsible manner.

Many things are dangerous, but guns are nowhere near the top of my list. I feel much safer shooting a gun than I do driving a car to the range.

If you can't see the difference between training people how to correctly and safely handle a weapon and an deranged nut job killing people, I can't help you.

1) Making me responsbile for some else's stupidity is even stupider. Unless, of course you want to legalize vigilanteism, which I could go along with.

2) Gun ban in the UK and Australia didn't work. Stop with the propaganda.

3) Full metal jacketed bullets are the least leathal of all the bullets made. It's the reason that the Geneva Convention makes FMJ bullets the ONLY legal bullet to be used in battle. Read a book and learn something.

There are millions of rounds fired in this country every year for non-violent and justifiable reasons.

Given the thousands of threads that are over odd/bizarre things in here your point is pointless. Some simple facts were pointed out and instead of just going 'ah-huh' and moving on the NRA Apologists spin like tops and move the topic back to their final line of defense...

Fact- professional schools do backround check their students

Fact- professional schools keep track of who they train.

Fact- the NRA does neither

Fact- the NRA apologists have tried everything from video games to 'it's justa safety course, are you against safety?' to deflect from the first two facts... :doh
