Would you say the the 2010 midterms were heavily influenced by the Tea Party? Would you say that Palin was one of the, if not the, most influential member of the movement at the time? She wasn't the entire election, but she did play a large part...she got people excited to vote. And where were all the anti Obamacare voters in 2012, when there was talk of reversing it?
No doubt the tea party played a major roll in the 2010 elections. So too did the independent vote which switched from 55-45 democratic in 2008 to 56-44 Republican in the mid term. You usually do not see that big a swing among the indies. But they were sort of peeved off.
But Palin and the tea party lead to O'Donnell and Angles nomination back in 2010 in two more states the GOP should have won. Akin and Mourdock are two more last year in states that should have been easy GOP victories.
I do think Palin's and the tea party influences is very big within the GOP itself and she/it is a force to be reckoned with. But come general election time, if they continue to help nominate candidates that are losers????????
