Anonymous Threatens Massive WikiLeaks-Style Exposure, Announced On Hacked Gov Site

Re: Anonymous Threatens Massive WikiLeaks-Style Exposure, Announced On Hacked Gov Sit

It's a helluva note, and a sign of these corrupted times when exposing government crimes is considered to be treasonous. Yes, we have the government we deserve. :3oops:

Oh please. Few tolerated it.

Re: Constrictive Hacking!

Why does it matter if these people are doing it out of their mom's basement or they are productive members of society? It doesn't seem to make any difference at all to me.

Practically? It does not matter. For my personal enjoyment pointing it our? It matters alot.

Re: Constrictive Hacking!

I don't find that persuasive in the least. It's rather like saying that because Daniel Ellsberg did not go through the chain of command he was not a whistleblower either.

Government sophistry is what you present. You want me to believe that exposing government crimes is good and correct, ONLY IF one goes through the chain of command. Nonsense.

Ellsberg also tolerated not releasing sources when trying to discuss any missile gap to his isolated colleagues at RAND.

Re: Constrictive Hacking!

Well you would know a lot about revolution wouldn't you, being a democrat.Tell me, how does it feel to be a sell out?

Let me explain: Your party has presided over the rapid succession of legislation which has made a mockery out of the first amendment and is currently waging a war against whistleblowers and journalists. If it were Bush who had did this, you would be screaming your head off but because it's Obama you will passively support him, like good democrat sheep.

Maybe you just don't realize how many risks people are taking who are, in fact, completely aware of the risks they are taking but do it for the sake of democracy?

Too bad they are not doing anything to defend the first amendment. Stealing credit card numbers is not a first amendment issue, and the people hurt are not the government.

Did they steal numbers this go? They had in the past (and bought numerous toys with the cash), while claiming they were only donating to groups like the Red Cross.

Re: Constrictive Hacking!

The JSTOR documents that were downloaded by Swartz were publically funded research papers that were being sold at outrageously high prices. Important research like that, especially when tax payer funded, needs to be in the public domain. Our government is insanely interested in squashing the flow of information and standing up for corporations. I never thought someone as liberal as you would stand up for the corporations, especially in order to deter the growth of human knowledge.

Apparently you have no clue what being a liberal is. Corporations are not evil, and people profiting is not bad. On the other hand, stealing from other people is bad. That is what Anonymous does.

Not to my knowledge this time.

In a nutshell....
stealing from other people is bad

Correct. Reason why these individuals are going down

Oddly, our government actually has procedures that people can follow to expose government crime, legally, and in fact the government will protect them from prosecution if they follow that process. Dumping thousands of documents with zero control onto the public internet is not that method, and just manages to piss off those who might actually be outraged over the crimes they claim to be exposed.

It made me happy to see in the source to the source that some kiddy Anon type will be spending real jailtime.

I'm not sure what your point is.

I'm not claiming Ellsberg or Manning is an angel. I'm claiming only that they are both whistleblowers and patriots.

Re: Constrictive Hacking!

No Pancho, they weren't armed. US thought they were armed, but the 'guns' turned out to be cameras. I'm wondering if you've heard the audio from the ship's intercom?

Yes Pancho, I've been shot at and missed, sh*t at and hit. I did the Vietnam thing, ya' know? Helicopter Ambulance. We were medics, and flew unarmed, with Red Cross insignia, in compliance with Geneva Conventions. VC didn't care too much about the Red Cross insignia, just like you don't care too much about shooting civilians.

My, how things don't change.

lol is this real life? you must've been bad in combat.

It is possible that there were crimes committed, it's also possible that Anon is just declaring them crimes.

Oh this is funny. If this were true then why is it that most liberals support raising taxes of just the rich corprate owners because they believe that Corporations are evil and always screw over thier employees and that they make too much? And please don't try to deny it as there are hundreds of posts in this forum that describe exactly that.

No. You have no clue what a liberal thinks. The reason to raise taxes on the wealthy is that they are harmed the least, and the economy is harmed the least, by raising their taxes, It is not a moral judgement on the wealthy. Some of my favorite people are extremely wealthy. Your laughable beliefs are, well, laughable.

Not my beliefs. Look around the forum here, there are people that actually think that.

Re: Constrictive Hacking!

Some liberals believe that dumb ****. Some conservatives believe the dumb **** that liberals think all of them think.

Most liberals and conservatives are normal, mostly-rational people. But the extremists on either side would like you to believe otherwise.

Re: Constrictive Hacking!

Oh, you are most certainly correct that we don't have that ability...as long as we continue to be lazy, apathetic and just plain not concerned about who is being selected for office. That is the attitude of most of the American populace. Perhaps THAT is what needs to be changed...perhaps you should support ending that apathy instead of supporting a bunch of hidden, cowardly, terroristic rats.

It is said that one sign of insanity is to do the same thing over and over and expect different results. The fact of the matter much of the apathy is the result of having to rely on only two parties which do not support the views of much of the populace. If we had more parties we would have more participation in elections and in political action. I consider the threat of the Democratic Party and its ilk to be greater than any ability that Anonymous would be capable of. It is not up to me to end any "apathy" but it might should be up to me to support those who are not apathetic about the issues that face the American People and the threats that appear to make this county a Tyranny.

Re: Constrictive Hacking!

Oh my, another hyped up failure by the anon. There has only been one thing Anon has ever been able to do, and that is to cause pain and misery to young kids on myspace and facebook who take their online persona way too seriously. What are they going to do when they fail yet again to do anything of any worth? OWS was more effective than they have ever been. It is funny, i had never really thought about it until now, but they tend to be very republican in their method for failure. They make grand claims of doom and gloom, and then when they lose they turn on each other and blame everyone else for their failure while never realizing they are not heroes.

Scientology kicked their asses. How are they going to face down one of the biggest most powerful governments in the world when scientology laughs off their attacks. I guess they found a bunch of new idiot flunkies, or as they call them newfags, to take the fall for them. They convince a whole bunch of idealistic kids that they are going to change the world, they make a fail attack, and then a bunch of them get arrested. I am quite sure the real instigators stay safe because in the end it is just trolling.

this is why you never put your faith in trolls to save the world. I cannot believe people just do not understand it is for the lulz, as they call it. in other words they do this to amuse themselves by watching overly serious twats get wasted by the forces that they attack. It is fun. it is not to save the world, it is to laugh at the idiots who you troll into their own self destruction. Yet some people still cannot figure out that is what a trolling organization is all about.

is this going to change the world? No. Are the forces that be afraid of Anon? No. Will it be amusing to watch a bunch of egotistical wannabe heroes get hammered by the system and realize they never had any backing? yeah actually i cannot wait to see the little twits cry as they are dragged off to a dark hole where they will be held until they die. Don't start thinking this has a purpose to save you or make the world better. This has one purpose, to get a whole bunch of idiots to charge to their doom and then laugh your asses off at their folly. That is what a real troll does.

Re: Constrictive Hacking!

There is nothing positive about this at all.

This is a terrorist act and should be treated accordingly.

you are taking this way too seriously. this is nothing more than trollish amusement by getting a bunch of idiots all fired up and then watching them get destroyed. I am sure there are some people who think they are actually the heroes of anon who feel they are going to change the world. They are idiots and we will watch them be destroyed. Come on, if the US government could be taken down by some basement dwelling idealists with delusions of grandeur it would already be done.

So sit back and watch the show. A few of these "treasonous" twats will strike a meaningless blow against the government and then the government is going to just beat the hell out of them. Want some popcorn? I think this is something we can both enjoy.

Yes, my dear, you are, of course, correct. I mean...that other terrorist group, Al Qaeda, couldn't bring down our government either. Why should we be worried about Anonymous?

Do you know what a medic is? Do you know how the Geneva Conventions govern medics?

I'm thinking, "no" would answer both questions. Clearly you have no idea how GC deals with civilians in a war zone. Or, perhaps you know, but you just don't care. THAT is probably the correct answer. "Kill 'em all and let God sort them out."

Exactly. People die when they try to play according to the rules when the other side doesn't. That's fine for you, I guess, when it's an abstraction. When it's your life, or your friends' lives, things are a little bit more real to you.
