Anonymous declares war on US government

To the Citizens of the United States and the United States Government.
We are Anonymous.

In the past few months, our collective has been organizing the operation known as Operation Blackout. Part of the operation's purpose was to alert the people of the coming bill that was to be called the Stop Online Piracy Act.

This Act would give Congress the power to censor any internet website they wish without consent from the Citizens of the United States. This act would've also had the power to jail any person who infringed on its new copyright law for an equivalence of five years. This copyright law would've had the power to destroy social networking sites such as Facebook and YouTube. Video gameplay and free movies would cease to exist.

However, Operation Blackout was a success. As a collective, we've managed to spread the word and alert the masses. Internet giants such as Google, Wikipedia, and Reddit became hand-in-hand with us as we all managed to make an impact on the decisions of our, "free government". But as we've seen with Megaupload, the government may not need a bill to be passed to get their way. Other operations we've conducted over this time period have awaken the people to the nightmare that is the United States Government. Sections 1031 and 1032 of the National Defense Authorization Act have been ratified. Yet we face new threats.

The United States Government is seeking to pass the Cyber Security Act of 2012. This act is as Orwellian as it sounds; it will endanger our collective and we will not stand by and watch while this government of lies prepares to take away our freedoms. The National Security Agency insists on labeling us as a leaderless, terrorist organization. The question is, "who do we terrorize?". Can it possibly be that the United States government is truly scared of us? Nevertheless, The time for action is now.

Our collective has realized, along with many United States citizens, that the current government is no longer functional. Our economy is unstable, our representatives uncooperative, and our system, destroyed.

We are not calling upon the collective to deface or use a distributed denial of service attack on a United States government agency website or affiliate. We are not calling upon the people to occupy a city or protest in front of a local building. This has not brought on us any legislative change or alternate law. It has only brought us bloodshed and false criticism. For the last 12 years, voting was useless. Corporations and lobbyists are the true leaders of this country and are the ones with the power to control our lives. To rebuild our government, we must first destroy it.

Our time for democracy is here.
Our time for real change is here.
This is America's time, to have its own revolution.


Therefore, Anonymous has decided to openly declare war on the United States government. This is a call to arms. We call upon the Citizens of the United States to stand beside us in overthrowing this corrupted body and call upon a new era. Our allegiance is to the American people, because they are us, and we are them.

We are Americans.
We never Forgive.
We never Forget.
To the United States government, it's too late to expect us.

Why does it matter if these people are doing it out of their mom's basement or they are productive members of society? It doesn't seem to make any difference at all to me.

Well you would know a lot about revolution wouldn't you, being a democrat.Tell me, how does it feel to be a sell out?

Let me explain: Your party has presided over the rapid succession of legislation which has made a mockery out of the first amendment and is currently waging a war against whistleblowers and journalists. If it were Bush who had did this, you would be screaming your head off but because it's Obama you will passively support him, like good democrat sheep.

Maybe you just don't realize how many risks people are taking who are, in fact,completely aware of the risks they are taking but do it for the sake of democracy?

Actually the very reason that we have freedom of the Press and freedom of Speech is to be able to attack the government. Same applies to the 2nd if the need ever arises. Unfortenately the "official" Press has lost sight of that fact as they have become nothing more than greedy imbeciles.

Why should Anonymous go after China? Last I heard Anonymous was mainly made up of American's. Why should they have to go after other countries that are not their concern?

Not to mention your arguement doesn't really fly for the simple fact that Wikileaks DID go after other countries...even before they went after the US and yet there are still people calling for Assaunge's head on a platter....were you onoe of those?

I guarantee you if the press hacks a government website and publishes the information, someone is going to jail...as the assholes from Anonymous should. Your connection between the press and Anonymous is deficient.

In regards to the 2nd Amendment...if it gets to the point of a shooting war between the citizens and the government, the country is a goner anyway. Actions such as what Anonymous has done won't mean a damn.

Im just tired of every crusader going after the US as a target for human rights violations---there are worse violators. But somehow the US is held to the highest of standards and other nations skate by with none---and the crusaders say and do nothing.

Tell me, what is the difference between an "whistleblower/informant" and hacking? Both come by their knowledge and distribute it via "unlawful" ways. Don't believe me? Take a look at Manning....

The reason for this is what the US has stood for. When you put yourself as the "leaders in freedoms and rights" and then don't hold up to that high standard you're going to get targeted. Blame the government for not living up to the standard which the US claims to be for.

Note that I do agree that there are other countries which are far worse in the freedom and rights department...but then again I don't see them touting that they are all about freedoms and rights.

Exactly, if I have one pet peeve it's people saying one thing and doing another. If we as a country and our government are going to pretend to be high and mighty, than we damn well better be the best.

Comparing Manning and Anonymous is like comparing a Apple to a Knitting Needle ....... absolutely no correlation what so ever.

Manning was Active Duty Army, Anonymous is an Activist group who's goal is to expose the corruption. While yes they are breaking the law I am also cheering them, remember that our founding fathers were enemies of the crown and risked everything including their lives for a principle.

So you're saying our founding fathers didn't start the revolution with letters, pamphlet's, civil demonstrations, "tea party's" ,etc and it only started when King George sent troops and King George didn't label them as Terrorists?

These Anonymous are like vile rats. They run around the sewers leaving their **** droppings here and there to make life uncomfortable for normal people. And, like rats, when they get cornered, they'll snarl and bare their teeth...until they get stomped on.

Our Founding Fathers were principled, open and honorable men who put their lives on the line for their beliefs.

To attempt to make a correlation between the two is not only stupid...it's a slap in the face of the greatest men ever associated with our country.

These criminals and terrorists have no core beliefs or principles...let alone a shred of honor. They attack whomever they perceive a beef with currently. They don't care whom they harm in the course of their actions.

They are nothing more than terrorist and opportunists who get their rocks off by showing off their internet hacking skill.
