Conservative talk radio personality Rush Limbaugh said on his show Monday that it was up to himself and the Fox News network to stop a bipartisan effort to pass immigration reform which would create a path to citizenship for the 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the United States. "It's up to me and Fox News," Limbaugh said, "and I don't think Fox News is that invested in this."
He continued: "I don't think there's any Republican opposition to this of any majority consequence or size. We'll have to wait and see and find out. But this is one of those, just keep plugging away, plugging away, plugging away until you finally beat down the opposition."

I'm not sure what's funnier, Rush's bloated opinion as to his own importance, or his reliance on a network that professes to be "fair and balanced" on all issues..

Thanks for the giggles Rush.

Obviously you don't know what sarcasm is

FAIL

Yes of course. Because we all know rush would never say such things and mean them.

The right wing apologists continue to set the land speed record defending this moron.

Fail indeed.

When you read Rush's comments in their full context, you see what he really meant.

Anyway, one of Marco Rubio's points, folks, essentially is that Obama's already given us de facto amnesty anyway. He did it with the children of illegal immigrants via the executive order back last year. It was prior to the election. I mean, thanks to Obama you have amnesty unless you get convicted of a major felony. So I don't know that there's any stopping this. It's up to me and Fox News, and I don't think Fox News is that invested in this. I don't think there's any Republican opposition to this of any majority consequence or size. We'll have to wait and see and find out. But this is one of those, just keep plugging away, plugging away, plugging away until you finally beat down the opposition.

Yes...fail!

Rush is on his own. The GOP is starting to smell the coffee with that last election; there is a new voter out there that is different than the one 60 some years ago.

Context sure helps. I wish it was more popular.

I consider Limbaugh to be a huge bag of wind but the bolded portion is correct. Add to that the Republicans slow dawning of the necessity of agreeing if they want to remain politically rlevant. So, it's a done deal and all that is being worked on are the details and how to funnel some profits to the connected ones overseeing this.

For English press 2.

No one is going to stop amnesty. The question is merely: How tough is the path?

Nonsense. With 11 million illegal aliens ALREADY here, why one earth do we need low skilled "guest workers"? This entire thing is a SCAM. The only reason republicants are "on board" is to prevent the demorats from getting the hispanic vote. As usual it will be said to be "contingent" upon... and eventually provide a "path to citizenship" - EXACTLY what each prior amnesty said that would happen. Each prior amnesty said secure borders and "absolute" penalties for those hiring illegal aliens. At least Fox News is honest when they show the lines of "day laborers" standing outside of Home Depot when they mentioned "low skilled" labor. The US needs to wake up! The last thing we need with 15% already on welfare, is more "low skilled" labor in each city, county and state in the US being brought in from Canada.

easy - its his own inflated opinion of his own powers.

Limbaugh reminds me of two women I was standing behind in a gas station a few weeks ago. The weather forecast was rather dire and - as normal - everybody with a car rushed to the gas station to fill up in preparation for being snowed in. Two women were ahead of me in line and one said to the other "we are suppose to get eight to ten inches tonight." Without batting an eyelash the other one replied... "they always tell you eight to ten inches and it always ends up half of that."

The Amnesty that Bush,McCain and Kennedy proposed was stopped, It was done with the aid of anti-illegal immigration groups like Numbersusa. So this one can be stopped too.

Look if I have to explain it to you than you're doing it wrong

Clearly you don't understand what sarcasm is. What he is saying (tongue in cheek, hence sarcasm) is that he (A guy on the radio) and Fox News (1 cable news channel out of dozens) are the only political opposition Obama has on anything. The MSM certainly is a willing participant in Obama's political agenda. That's not their job. Their job is to act as a guardian for the people. A watchdog, regardless what political party is in the WH. That concept is out the window, and you could care less. It's Orwellian, but as long as your hero Hussein Obama can act like a dictator, who cares right? All Obama is trying to do is what a true Alinsky disciple does. Polarize any opposition. Remove any opposition. It's the Collectivist Way. It's not very clever once you see the same tired cliche tactics used again and again. The problem is the weak minded lap it up like dogs, hence demagogues like Obama get elected and reelected on false promises and division.

You're just flailing around in Obama worship and not making any sense trying to bait people. Maybe you shouldn't rely on Media Matters so much to do your thinking for you? Just sayin ...

Rush is on his own. The GOP is starting to smell the coffee with that last election; there is a new voter out there that is different than the one 60 some years ago.

Yea they want their Obamaphones

Oh please, enlighten the rest of us then. What did Rush actually mean? This should be fun.

You obviously don't listen to Rush or you'd know that he has an ironic sense of humor and frequently says things like that. One of his catch phrases is to say that he has "talent on loan from God."

Yeah, you failed.

You obviously don't listen to Rush.

Some of us have better things to do. You depend on Limbaugh for your thoughts and you accuse others of failure. Gotta love that pretzel logic.

Oh please, enlighten the rest of us then. What did Rush actually mean? This should be fun.

What is the upside to the Mexican colonization of the United States? Just one thing?

So you take a joke out of context, then admit that you are unwilling to even try to understand the context because you "have better things to do." And you accuse me of pretzel logic? You do realize that you look like an idiot, right?

Sure glad you don't want to hide how you stand on the issues too hard Mr. Other.

Great Taco trucks. (I figured you deserved to see an actual dose of real sarcasm)

I certainly pray you are correct. I've lost faith this country will be anything but a pale reflection of itself by the time my grandchildren have grown. Perhaps enough in congress will grow stones and oppose this, but right now, with the current congress, don't know.

What is the upside to the Mexican colonization of the United States? Just one thing?

Lower building cost, lower landscaping cost, lower meat processing cost, lower agriculture food cost, lower labor cost to farmers....etc, etc, etc, etc....

Honestly. It's always out of context with Rush. Dittoheads buy his bull****, hook, line and sinker.

Do you know what the word context means? Honestly.

Lower building cost, lower landscaping cost, lower meat processing cost, lower agriculture food cost, lower labor cost to farmers....etc, etc, etc, etc....

And none of those things are "upside" when they're done in a borrow from Peter to pay Paul way (such as hiring illegals).

Oh please, enlighten the rest of us then. What did Rush actually mean? This should be fun.

Oh, I don't expect YOU to get it. You can't see far enough past your hatred for anyone that doesn't fall inline with the Libbo Manifesto.
