Rand Paul Calls Benghazi "Worst Tragedy Since 9/11"

and got nothing done besides grandstanding

Got that cost down and saved the people of his State and the Country that money.....huh? ;)

As far as I know he has not missed a vote, has intro'd legislation, not to mention stepped upon the Stage to be the Xzibit.

Looks like he has accomplished more in his short time than Harry Reid has done with his whole 30 year career. :2razz:

She is the Secretary of State... she has a pretty busy schedule and little time for silliness. Now that she is winding down her tenure she finally had a little time to chit-chat with the do-nothings down at the Senate to indulge in their fantasy that this is some type of great scandal.

She is responsible for the deaths of four Americans, including the Ambassador, and should be held accountable. What the Senator said was absolutely correct.

You can tell Rand Paul is correct when the Left attacks him personally rather dealing with the issues he raised.

You can tell Rand Paul is correct.

Rand Paul is incorrect in suggesting that Bengazi, while legitimate questions do need to be answered and people held responsible for what happened on that day, is the worst tragedy since 9/11.

Simply not true.

Having the US Ambassador murdered by Islamists is a very serious thing and one the Ambassador warned might happened unless extra security was added. Hillary did not heed his request and he and three other Americans died as a consequence. The survivors of that attack have also not yet been allowed to speak.

Whether it was the worst tragedy since9/11 is debatable. It clearly demonstrated that the Islamists have no fear from the US Administration under Obama, or from Hillary Clinton, and certainly not from John Kerry. That will lend to the tragedy over time. We can see from Mali, and throughout the Middle East, that their confidence is growing.

Terrorists do not respect any authority that contradicts their own. Terrorists are agents of chaos, they create chaos and thrive in the chaos they create, to assume otherwise is a act of naïveté. We can assume very little, but one thing that is clear is that only a act of extrordernary foresight could have prevented this tragedy, because the ones who attacked us in Benghazi opertunisticly chose their moment to strike while we were distracted by events elsewhere.

"Reports about the end of the war in Iraq routinely describe the toll on the U.S. military the way the Pentagon does: 4,487 dead, and 32,226 wounded.

The death count is accurate. But the wounded figure wildly understates the number of American service members who have come back from Iraq less than whole."

The true number of military personnel injured over the course of our nine-year-long fiasco in Iraq is in the hundreds of thousands -- maybe even more than half a million -- if you take into account all the men and women who returned from their deployments with traumatic brain injuries, post-traumatic stress, depression, hearing loss, breathing disorders, diseases, and other long-term health problems.

Dan Froomkin: How Many U.S. Soldiers Were Wounded in Iraq? Guess Again.

This is the worst tragedy since 9/11!

Was that after the they attacked the Consulate back in March of that Year while leaving a Note saying they would be back? Or was that after the so called terrorists attempted to Assassinate the UK Ambassador? Is that what you mean by being distracted from what was staring them Right in Front of their Face?

Was anyone watching that Worst Tragedy of yours with that deflection with Iraq for 7 hrs and doing nothing until the last half of those 7hrs? I hardly doubt it!!!!!

Bet you didn't think Paul was thinking about that aspect. Especially watching only 2 US personnel fight one of the Best Damn Retreating Withdrawls until they to were killed. Yet saving the lives of other Americans.

Course when you can get PAST that part of Team Obama KNOWING That the LOCAL MILITIA that was Providing Security.....were in fact those that set up Road Blocks and the ones that were Firing on our people. Then you might ACTUALLY have some ground to stand upon.

Remember what I told ya about Obama and Clinton on Sixty Minutes. What I like hearing is how the Media reported that Obama was holding this Camera Op with the Media as unusual. Yet all of them allowed Obama to get on Television so that he can tell the American People how he feels for Hillary and how she did a Great Job and that her record will show such for our time. Notice they didn't want to talk about Benghazi to much. lmao!

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama lauded Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton as one of his closest advisers and said their shared vision for America's role in the world persuaded his one-time rival — and potential successor — to be his top diplomat while he dealt with the shattered economy at home.

Obama, who suggested the joint interview as Clinton prepared her exit from the State Department, lavished praise on his rival for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination. He called her a friend and an extraordinary talent, and praised "her discipline, her stamina, her thoughtfulness, her ability to project."

It teetered on an endorsement of a 2016 presidential bid that is still an open question. Clinton advisers say she has not made a decision about a run, while Democratic officials suggest Clinton would be an early favorite if she decided to mount another campaign.

Obama and Clinton laughed when asked about the political future.

"You guys in the press are incorrigible," Obama said when pressed on another Clinton presidency. "I was literally inaugurated four days ago. And you're talking about elections four years from now."

Here is some of the Comedy. Do you think that those on the Right.....NOW need to go after Any of the MEDIA that kisses Obama's azz?

But now as far as AQ is concerned.

ya cant talk about that as Obama said AQ was decimated!

Worst tragedy since 9-11? Just political Grand Standing.
My suggestion of the Worst-Tragedy-Since-911 Award would be The Iraq War.
Build upon trumped-up data, kill 100K civilians, pillaged the Treasury on no-bid contracts, etc, etc.
Any other suggestions welcome.
Just my $0.02

Anyone who has been in an insurgent war, knows that the front lines are 360 degrees. Whether it was Vietnam, Iraq, or Afghanistan.
What the argument has been missing, is that the war on terror is no different, only that the "green zone" is the United States.
In an insurgent war, the enemy always has the upper hand, because only they know what, when, and where they will strike.
We have hundreds of out posts around the world. Since we don't have enough Grunts to protect them all, we have 2 choices, or a combination of both, arm the outposts to the teeth, or draw down unnecessary deployment outposts.
Hind sight always brings out the ones who proclaim they would have done the right thing. Even to where a self proclaimed Libertarian knows what would have been best... Leaving out the fact that tragedies wouldn't happen, if we were not there.

This is the worst tragedy since 9/11!

It was a far worse tragedy than the attack of 9/11 in just in terms of Americans killed and wounded. Add in the Iraqis who have been killed, injured, or left homeless, and it's an even bigger tragedy. Add to that the recruitment of terrorists and resultant expansion of the "war on terror", and it's magnified many times more.

Let's see: Tea Party Occupied Congress cuts spending on embassy security; an embassy is attacked and there aren't ready resources to defend it; and you conclude that spending cuts didn't matter.

Funny, basic logic would suggest the opposite conclusion.

Basic logic is that Bill Clinton was a failure and passed on getting UBL after the first attack on the WTC and prosecuted that attack as criminal.. much like the criminal that any Clinton is...

Thank God that GWB started the HSA that that scum Obama now has to make himself look good about as Obama voted against it..

To think if Bill Clinton wasnt a criminal and had prosecuted the attacks on the Cole and the first attack ont he WTC, instead of carpet bombing over the blue dress and killing thousasnds of Iraquis just to get our eyes off his purgery,, so THOUSANDS of Americans in NYC would be alive..

when you got to bed tonight thank GWB for keeping you safe..... Clinton didnt have the courage to start the HSA that has kept us safe..

Only the far right say that taking the nation to war based on bad intelligence with more than 100,000 wounded and killed, was not the worst tragedy since 9/11.

Everyone gets themselves all worked up by analyzing a few words made by an imperfect man. Yes, he was wrong to say it was the worst tragedy since 9/11. There are several other examples I can think of off the top of my head. I'm sure he would agree with everyone here the Newton shooting was a worse tragedy. It was a slip of the tongue. He is not "scum" or even an "idiot" for it. Everyone get off their high-horse and stop acting like they have never been in that position before.

For the most part, I thought his questions/discussion with Hillary were fair.

Mr. "If I were President," (lmmfao,) Rand Paul is an idiot.

If I were Ron Paul, I would demand a paternity test.

'Nuff said.

I'm saying the majority of Congressional Democrats that voted against AOF in Iraq were correct!

If hype and exaggeration makes someone "scum" or "an idiot", then every politician in Washington is .... Hey, maybe we're on to something here!
