Texas Proposal: JAIL Any Federal Officials Trying to Enforce New Gun Restrictions in

Re: Texas Proposal: JAIL Any Federal Officials Trying to Enforce New Gun Restrictions

Every day we come to regret more and more re-admitting these right wing states back into the Union. We should have whipped their asses, which we did, freed the slaves, which we did, and then kicked them the hell out of the country permanently.

I hate to break it to you. We still have slaves in this country. As to kicking us out.......you are free to exit at any time.

Re: Texas Proposal: JAIL Any Federal Officials Trying to Enforce New Gun Restrictions

the stupid state is NY-banning 10 round magazines because of what some criminal did with a weapon that was illegal for him to have in the first place

No, the stupid state is texas....NOT banning military weapons from civilian hands.

Re: Texas Proposal: JAIL Any Federal Officials Trying to Enforce New Gun Restrictions

LOL, you really think something is going to come of this? really?
This is nothing more than political speak that gives conservatives hard-ons. This is very similar to the speak about arresting the UN observers at the texas polls. It's only feel good speak.
Outrage: Obama Admin. Says Texans Can't Arrest UN Observers Even if They Violate Texas Law | Restoring Liberty

Texas Republican Rep. Steve Stockman threatened Monday afternoon that he would file articles of impeachment against President Barack Obama if he institutes gun control measures with an executive order.

Stockman warned that such executive orders would be “unconstitutional” and “infringe on our constitutionally-protected right to keep and bear arms.”

“I will seek to thwart this action by any means necessary, including but not limited to eliminating funding for implementation, defunding the White House, and even filing articles of impeachment,” Stockman said in a statement.

At his press conference Monday, Obama floated the possibility of using executive action to enact policies aimed at reducing gun violence.....snip~

Guess they are serious about it.....huh? Also Arresting Feds has nothing to do with UN observers.

I think you should take a trip down there and give those folks a piece of your mind. Make your voice heard where it counts, I say.

Re: Texas Proposal: JAIL Any Federal Officials Trying to Enforce New Gun Restrictions

I have no problem with states like Texas trying to keep the power of the U.S. government in check.

I'd recommend a basic course in U.S. history for you, since your knowledge seems lacking. I'd suggest the local community college, and pay particular attention to the years 1861-1865,

Why do you qualify that with "like Texas"? SSM?

I'm not sure what you mean, Eco.

I believe that states ought to have the right to determine the majority of their politics. The thought of a growing government makes me fear those who will get caught in its shadow.

Why would anybody voluntarily go to such a hell-hole? These idiots are talking about throwing federal officials in jail (shades of 1861!) and seceding. I expect they'd settle any dispute I might have by simply shooting me with one of their beloved guns. No thanks.

Neither did Jefferson Davis and the rest of those traitors. How'd that work out?

That seems more than a little sensitive on your part, Wiggen.

i'm sure your presence here would not be welcome, so it's probably a good thing you are scared to drop in

Re: Texas Proposal: JAIL Any Federal Officials Trying to Enforce New Gun Restrictions

Think that will work :) I think its classic grandiose grandstanding for his constituency

A Texas lawmaker says he plans to file the Firearms Protection Act, which would make any federal laws that may be passed by Congress or imposed by Presidential order which would ban or restrict ownership of semi-automatic firearms or limit the size of gun magazines illegal in the state, 1200 WOAI news reports.

Republican Rep. Steve Toth says his measure also calls for felony criminal charges to be filed against any federal official who tries to enforce the rule in the state.

"If a federal official comes into the state of Texas to enforce the federal executive order, that person is subject to criminal prosecution," Toth told 1200 WOAI's Joe Pags Tuesday. He says his bill would make attempting to enforce a federal gun ban in Texas punishable by a $50,000 fine and up to five years in prison.

Nice to see other states doing something similar to what Wyoming is doing.

You got that right. You people are nuts with your worship of guns and your hatred of the federal government. I generally am scared of the crazy and irrational.

No, you're talking about arresting and jailing federal officers attempting to enforce federal law. Here'a a hot tip for you - we fought this battle 150 years ago. You lost.

Re: Texas Proposal: JAIL Any Federal Officials Trying to Enforce New Gun Restrictions

it would be a good time to force the federal boundary issues

if the Obamatards try to ban normal cap magazines or weapons that cause them to wet their pants, the solution would be for makers to limit their sales in the state where they are located and then the interstate commerce nexus would not exist and state law protecting such weapons would be pretty damn compelling

You mean like Montana already did in 2009.

Re: Texas Proposal: JAIL Any Federal Officials Trying to Enforce New Gun Restrictions

Yes, you people on the Far Right scare the living hell out of me.

Re: Texas Proposal: JAIL Any Federal Officials Trying to Enforce New Gun Restrictions

Damn thats serious law with fangs. I bet there would be Feds who would think thrice before violating that law.
I would think twice about Jaywalking in Texas_

this fight is about gun control , not slavery...... so no, this battle was not fought 150 years ago....
we are talking legislation not civil war... this is not a North South issue.. nor a black white issue.... it's an issue about keeping our rights, or allowing the federal government to violate them.

where do you fall on the issue?... to keep or to violate?
