The Associated Press reported on Wednesday that immigration authorities arrested Luis Abrahan Sanchez Zavaleta, an 18-year-old immigrant from Peru, last Thursday. Sanchez came to the United States on a now-expired visitor visa and may be deported. The exact nature of his sex-related offense was not immediately clear because it occurred when he was a minor, the AP said. The news agency cited an anonymous official as saying that the Homeland Security Department instructed federal agents not to arrest him until after Election Day.

Citing an anonymous official? Well I guess if an "anonymous" official said Romney ****s cows we should believe them right? Amazing how people will believe "anonymous" sources.

I'm having a difficult time working up even a half-assed give-a-**** about this. Senatorial staffs are overflowing with unpaid college interns. A routine background check is run on all of them, including the intern in question. Since said intern was a minor when the "sex offense" occurred, it did not show on his background check, nor did his illegal status in the country. Apparently the senator and his staff only became aware of the situation once the intern had been arrested by immigration.

Someone explain to me why this is even news, let alone news worthy of discussion.

I will just go out on a limb and say if it was Senator Rubio you'd probably have issue with it, as would Joaquin and many others so willing to look the other way when its one of their own.

No, actually, I look at facts as they exist. I don't look for ways to twist them into a partisian agenda, since I don't have one. But given your own quote here, I'm guessing you do, particularly since you can't even offer an explanation as to how, given all the circumstances stated, the Senator could possibly have been responsible for something he could not have possibly known!

BTW, I'm not a democrat. I was a registered republican for decades; now I'm an Independent, dispising both parties equally. :lol:

Calgun isn't big on facts. I asked him for 5-10 pages nonstop to show us how the FBI, GOA and a number of other government organizations conspired to win the election for Obama. Guy still has me waiting. I wouldn't hold my breath on him to support any of his assertions.

I'd go out on a limb and say that if someone made a thread like this about Senator Rubio, you'd probably complain that there was no evidence, as would other conservatives who are so willing to look the other way when it's one of their own.
